F1 2009 Season discussion/development thread

Getting close to the first race :D Can't wait! Would be good if BrawnGP can carry their current speed advantage to the races.
 
Okay, predictions time:

Pole Position: Rubens Barrichello (Brawn)

1st place: Jenson Button (Brawn)
2nd place: Rubens Barrichello (Brawn)
3rd place: Nico Rosberg (Williams)
 
I've just got a sneaking feeling that McClaren and Ferrari might pull something out of the bag when it comes to racing...how can the two "top" teams be so far back?
 
I've not really kept up to speed with the off-season F1 stuff but I have to admit I'm massively excited at the prospect of the Honda BGP cars being front-runners. It's always good to have a cabinet re-shuffle and upset the status quo - I remember nearly wetting myself when Leyton House suddenly found mid-season form in 1990, it's just a shame they never made anything of it.

I'll not be convinced until the first race though. All too often we hear pre-season reports of cars being dramatically on or off the pace and all too often it turns out to be a false alarm and come the start of the season the usual suspects are at the front, or have sorted their acts out by the third round.

As for the new scoring system - I don't know if it will work for the better but I can see what they are trying to achieve with it.

Roll on Race 1, genuinely looking forward to a new season for the first time in *years*
 
See now I was trying to be nice and not give you all nightmares by reminding you of fathead, but no you boys had to go and spoil it!
