If anything maybe Vettel would sue (defamation) but he probably sees the funny side too

I'm not sure if he would want to highlight the "Shrek comment", which is what would happen if he decided to make a big deal. Also if T.Ecclestone really did say that, would Vettel really want to get on the wrong side of her father?

On a related note, would that be classed as "defamation"?

Honestly I don't think it be classed as 'defamation', more like an unwanted insult...

and if it was in the public domain then not much he could do anyway...

the whole point of defamation IS that its in the public domain

I suppose Tamara doesnt have direct control over his career, it would probably be a bigger deal if Bernie had said it (not that he would)

Change of tack. Will be heading up to Jerez tomorrow to catch the pre-season testing. However I cant find which teams are heading down there tomorrow. Will be taking a mate who posts on these forums (Alex53) who's a much better photographer than myself :)

Shrek has a rounded/spherical head, which is completely unlike Vettel, who has a long face.

What is Montoya doing these days? Is he doing some form of stock car racing, like NASCAR or similar? Is he doing well?

Montoya has one heck of a temper on him. I remember a cameraman bumped into his head by accident once and Montoya was ready to have a physical fight with him.

What a pillock.

That is one of my favourite clips from F1 - I liked his temper, it kept him interesting (although it also stopped him winning championships). It also stopped him bending over whenever Schumacher was around - most drivers just used to jump out the way. Too many drivers these days have nothing interesting going on for them - and when they do show a bit of personality (like Hamilton used to in his early years), they get slated by the media and fans.

How long will it take you?

My brother lives in Gib and has no interest in cars but might be a good excuse to pop over and see him.

If somebody bumps into you, unintentionally, while you are walking down the street, would you beat him up?

Think I'd have done the same as Montoya in that instance.

It's one thing to brush shoulders or similar.... But having someone walk into you and smack you in the head with a big heavy camera being carried by someone who clearly wasn't looking where they were going is completely different.

1. You'll note that he didn't beat him up.

He tried to. His wife stopped him and other people were preventing Montoya from taking physical action.

2. It wasn't a street. It was at an F1 race where any competent cameraman should have been looking where he was swinging the thing.

It doesn't matter where you are. If somebody bumps into you by mistake (and even hits your head, by mistake) and is apologetic, attempting to fight the person is not right.

I live in London and it is densely populated. On many occasions people bump into eachother. Its no big deal and usually does not end up with one party attempting to fight the other over the incident. Had Montoya decided to fight the guy and the guy took a beating, a court of law would definitely have punished Montoya.

Remember, the camera man did not intend to bump into Montoya's head. Montoya on the other hand (had he been allowed to fight), had intent to cause the camera man bodily harm. The best thing was that it was all on camera, so Montoya would not have had any defence.
