A lot of freight has gone, remember its also all the hospitality stuff that travels. One thing that a lot of people dont realise is the hassle this causes, its difficult to just pitch up elsewhere and race as the cars are very circuit specific these days.

Silverstone test sounds a great idea, go go :D

i was thinking maybe they could move the race to Qatar? The motoGp boys are racing there a week after the supposed bahrain GP. it's probably the closest track that could conceivably host.

Thats interesting - surely the BBC have a watertight contract with BE /FOM that they have to cover each race live?

I agree with JH's personal approach though - wouldnt go anywhere near the place unless I really had to

Edit - BBC are claiming that the Sunday Times have stated that at least one leading team have already decided not to go to Bahrain for the race (ST site is subscription so I cant verify) - not sure they have mentioned which team though

The BBC would just commentate from the UK instead? So just no pitlane walk or being able to use anything but the FOM feed I'm guessing.

i see vettel in that video using the movable wing through out the lap but i thought it was only when your 0.xx of a second behind someone to help a pass. can they use it when ever they want?

In the race its use will be restricted, but in testing the drivers are obviously keen to learn how it will behave under various conditions.

Edit: Incidentally, does anyone know what the usage restrictions are for the wing in Quali?

Anyone have any idea how much this could possibly affect lap times?

(Im clutching at straws I know but hey ho)

If some teams are doing more realistic GP times as they have to race - while others are getting used to the new movable wings (and getting faster times because of this)..........

I think its unrestricted in qualifying and testing/practice.
