F1 2015 - Teams and Drivers - Who goes where?!

Yep. I don't see how anyone thinks associating themselves with Flavio does anything other than destroy their credability.

Flavio's only as dodgy as any of the old school bosses (i.e. very).

However if the likes of Alonso and Webber stay fairly close to him, there must be some ounce of credibility left as I don't think they'd suffer fools gladly.

People talk about Button being the 'more expensive' option over K.Mag but couldn't just offer to keep him for 1-2 years on the proviso that he will be paid the same wage as K.Mag was in 2014?

Surely he's still be on a million quid or so per year so not exactly a slap in the face given the fact he gets to drive in F1 still for Mclaren.

Just laughs

A world champion accepting a rookie pay grade - just why?

Not only that, all the knowledge and experience JB has shown this year to completely slaughter KM in the final standings (in a pretty **** car), proves he is worth much more (even if you are just paying for the experience to get more points in any given car).

Whither Caterham? Did you see the BBC interview with the administrator Finbarr O'Connell? He looked as if he was in clover. And very unused to being interviewed live on TV!

Button would love another 1-2 years in F1... Button is a great/solid driver to pair with Alonso but he is not the future (neither is Alonso but nevermind)... Honestly if Button REALLY wants to stay then why would he turn down £1,000,000 a year.... it's hardly a slap in the face.

Button gets to spend another year doing what he enjoys and gets a million quid....Mclaren get another year of service from a great driver... Win/Win... I wouldn't call it LOLZ... how much do Williams receive (NET) from Pastor? Please remind me?

Maybe... We all thought Ham had Roseberg trumped in all areas but Rosberg owned Ham in Quali this year.

Firstly that is liberal usage of the term "we all", because we didn't. Several of us have for years and long before Hamilton joined them known and pointed out that Rosberg sets his car up for qualifying and loses out on race pace. Hamilton sets up a car for race pace and is still exceptionally fast in qualifying. Considering one, how close qualifying usually was when Hamilton has a slower qualifying car AND frequently beat Rosberg, it shows that Hamillton is the faster qualifier in general but with a slower car in qualifying it means he doesn't always get pole.

ALso in both weekends that Hamilton had failures in qualifying he was the noticeably stronger driver at the weekend, take 2 poles off Rosberg and give them to Hamilton instead and reliability aside qualifying was almost equal... with Hamilton in a slower car for qualifying. If you call that owned.... lol.

However as said, it's predictable seeing as I've said it for 3-4 years and that Rosberg beat Hamilton several times last year. It was 11 vs 8 last year to Hamilton, a couple races and the results change either year and who "won" qualifying entirely changes, I wouldn't call either owned. 15-4 would be owned, 7-12(with two failures, could have been 9-10 without them) is not owned, neither is 11-8.

It's also not surprising that with Rosberg out raced and out qualified against Hamilton last year that he probably focused even more on qualifying this year.

No, as Will Buxton said, his bosses at Williams said his mind drifts and he "switches off" during the race and that's what causes his loss of pace over a race distance. It's been the case since he entered F1.

Regardless of car setup, Hamilton made a lot of mistakes on key quailfying laps. It's a problem he is aware of.

Yeah, this. Next year, I expect Hamilton to improve in this area. With the second title behind him I think the extra confidence and relaxation will help him deliver a real step forward in consistency. Cut out the mistakes, and I think he'll win the pole position battle with Rosberg. How many times did we see Hamilton be the faster driver on the Saturday and then throw it away when it counted?

I would guess as he has said he's in no hurry as he has a drive for 2015 that Hamiltons team would be keen for Alonso's deal at mclaren to be announced first. If Alonso get's a 1 year deal at Mclaren there is always that option Merc can beat him with. If Mclaren tie Alonso down to a multi year deal then Lewis holds a few more of the cards.

Alonso's will be a multi year deal but with the same performance terms/caveates that any sensible top-flight driver would want.

So if it all goes badly, perhaps he will be free for the 2016 season
