F1 2015 - Teams and Drivers - Who goes where?!

Button's problem is the increased volume of young pay drivers. 10-15 years ago he could have jumped from mid-level team to mid-level team for a few more years as 'the experienced one'.

Now though, money seems more important to many teams than experience, just as long as the pay driver isn't totally useless, the money he brings to the team is seemingly more of an asset than an experienced driver.

Button's problem is the increased volume of young pay drivers.

That and been slow as well **** in qualifying doesn't help either.

Will be nice to not have him around crying about balance and banging on about papa Smurf, triathlons and crying to Simon lazenby because a teammate had the audacity to overtake him.

Ex f1 champ Alan Jones is saying Alonso has signed directly with Honda and will be at McLaren as a result.

Which is funny because I was just asking the missus what Alonso's "Plan" could be that he's been on about....

Makes total sense, sign for Honda and then decide where to go after if Honda supply an engine to a team with a better chassis after 2015.... or maybe it doesn't make sense!

:o

I cant see that legally holding water.

Would Renault ever have stood a chance of forcing a driver on Redbull (who are effectively THE Renault team)?

McLaren is still the team in regards to F1/FIA , so if Honda are taking over the slot that has ramifications too (and Im not sure the McLaren team are going to be sold either)

Also think about the tech McLaren will develop next year - and the feasibility of keeping that from Alonso IF he isn't signed with the team long term....

I don't doubt he will end up at McLaren , I just cant see how he can sign directly with Honda (I cant see Merc shafting LH like that, but you never know)

Why would Hamilton be the one to get the boot? Having a contract clearly means nothing in F1, so Rosberg is just as likely to be dropped.

Potentially cost more to get rid of Rosberg (Rosberg re-signed recently, and while LH is meant to do the same, Im not sure he has yet)

Otherwise you are totally correct

Did we ever hear the details of Lewis' contract at Mercedes? There were reports of it being a 2 year contract, a 3 year one, or both (i.e. a 3 year contract with a clause to terminate at 2 years).

Lauda has flat out denied that Mercedes are after Alonso, but as I said earlier, I seriously doubt any team has not even thought about it.

Alonso to Williams would be awesome. Can't see it happening financially though, I seriously doubt Williams would have the budget for him

Pretty sure I heard on todays sky coverage somewhere that Sutil was on his way out too. I won't miss him much, although his mini vigil by Bianchi's accident today has improved my opinion of him somewhat.

Sometimes I can't get over how quickly it's changed. How badly Ferrari wanted him. Now look at the situation. Same with Kimi. He hasn't been in a year yet and look at the situation.
