16. Kubica (Alfa Romeo) 1m25.909s, C3, 9 laps

Obviously it's only the first day and only a muppet would read too much into it, but it looks like Merc, Ferrari, and McLaren are in a very good position. Red Bull have cranked up the laps and don't look like they tried any fast runs so I think they're also good, if perhaps a touch behind those three. Aston Martin, Alpine, and AlphaTauri probably sitting in the midfield, with the three backmarker teams still there. Worrying for Alfa and Haas that they managed so few laps; worrying for Williams that they managed the laps but still sit so far back.

Part of me is hoping the redbull becomes a midfield team, purely because of Horner. But I think they are the ones which are gonna nail it this year
I think most people are hoping they'd become a midfield team :p I have no idea about testing but would have thought within 147 laps of go-around that Max would have given it full beans at least once or twice.

Day 2 morning times:

1. Ricciardo (McLaren) 1m20.355s, C3, 64 laps
2. Sainz (Ferrari) 1m20.546s, C3, 71 laps
3. Gasly (AlphaTauri) 1m20.764s, C3, 60 laps
4. Albon (Williams) 1m21.531s, C3, 47 laps
5. Stroll (Aston Martin) 1m21.920s, C2, 55 laps
6. Schumacher (Haas) 1m21.949s, C3, 65 laps
7. Bottas (Alfa Romeo) 1m22.288s, C3, 21 laps
8. Perez (Red Bull) 1m22.412s, C2, 38 laps
9. Hamilton (Mercedes) 1m22.562s, C2, 40 laps
10. Ocon (Alpine) 1m23.280s, C2, 66 laps

Another good session for McLaren and Ferrari. Alfa are still struggling to make a decent number of laps, and Alpine seem to be lacking pace so far.

Red bull break down.no details on anything it seems. This closed door test thing is a bit pants.
Reckoned to be a gearbox issue. Some hydraulic fluid was noticed to be leaking from the car when it came back so maybe just blew a seal or something.

Ricciardo fastest this morning. McLaren looking very good.
