F1 Car Launches 2010

In what way does the new McLaren have continuity with last years car?

I mean continuity with Ferrari and Renult on design directions, mainly on body and nose shapes. To me the reflect trying to take a mix of last years red bull and brawn cars and in theory this is a good idea, its not all that exciting...

Just seen a photo of the rear of the Renault - Sauber, Ferrari and McLaren have a nice shaped and fitted panel covering the diffuser...

Renault on the other hand, stuff a couple of bin bags around the rear structure and stick a bit of coloured card there. :D

Reminds me of the first race on the grid last season, the Toyota engineers standing behind the car :)

I don't understand something.

Ferrari and McLaren using the front telemetry pod as aero? The Mc more so, it appears to try and be part of the wing...
The Sauber, not using it at all.
The Renault doesnt even have a front telemetry pod? Only one on top? Now if you are only having one.. why does the Sauber and Ferrari have both?

Camera isn't it? I think all teams have to have the housing for it but only a certain amount each weekend have actual cameras in them AFAIK?

You mean the camera housings?

They are designed to produce a minimal aerodynamic effect - they can be utilised though - mainly through the weight weight of them and the positioning in that respect.

Mclaren are using the splitter under the nose to mount the cameras, Ferrari have them on the wing support and Sauber have them on the nose.

The nose on the Renault is a 2009 one so chances are we will see the proper nose with the camera housings mounted when they are on the track.

Test liveries always look nicer than race liveries, but such is the nature of the sport. We need lots of stickers on the cars to allow them to afford to race.

Best test livery for years:

Williams also seem to have a habit or running with a really nice dark blue livery throughout testing, then breaking it by chucking loads more while or royal blue all over it for race time!

Mercedes and Toro Rosso have both broken cover but no decent photos around yet.

Worth noting this year that TR have had to build their own car, as the rules were changed so they couldn't use RB's design.

There seems to be very little difference in length between Renaults R30 and R29 especially if you compare the overhead shots of say the Ferrari. Where are they putting all that extra fuel?
