F1 Manager 22

This is on 80% off sale on Steam right now if there's anyone else who (like me) has been holding off until a big price drop. It's €10.99 here, so I guess a tenner in the UK?
Since the game came out the developers stock is also discounted by roughly the same percent.. which might tell you something.
for a teener it's probably okay though but after 1-2 seasons you will likely wonder what's the point.

Played through my first race and I'm pretty disappointed - I wasn't expected greatness given the general response, but this is worse than I expected. What really stands out is the amount of jank with a lack of polish and refinement, alongside a generally poor set of design decisions. I sunk over a hundred hours in Motorsport Manager so I expected this to be right up my street, but it feels like a shallow imitation, with some fancy graphics over the top. But whereas Motorsport Manager feels like a project loved by its developers that is janky due to being produced by a small studio, this feels like a rushed cash-in project produced by people who don't love either the game or F1. I think the worst thing is probably the graphical decisions: the big budget and license let them stick shiny 3d on it but it's next to wasted as you can't watch the graphics above 2x speed, so you're mostly watching a completely abstracted lap map. Motorsport Manager's high, zoomed-out, camera gave a much better view of the track than this.

At a tenner I'll likely get my money's worth but I think I'd be decidedly upset to have spent launch price money on this. To anyone else considering it: if you haven't already got Motorsport Manager, buy that instead.

It’s still pretty turd, has improved in some areas but still lacks badly and just like 2022 the more people play the more they realise how many flaws it still has.

AI is a little more challenging though but still nowhere near dynamic or intelligent enough when it comes to race strategy.

F1 Manager 23 has been out for about 10 days. Anyone picked it up? Does it fix the problems with '22?

I've not played 22 so can't compare but I am enjoying 23. From what I can gather there's meant to be a big patch in couple of weeks so hopefully they'll fix a few things. I play as Williams so maybe some of the game's design flaws I put down to the car and Sergeant being crap. :D I hope they'll reduce staff demands when signing a new driver or staff member, they're asking for about double the wages to make the move which seems unrealistic to me.
