F1 Testing 2010

Renault are using little cameras to keep an eye on things :)

Yup...

The fact that there are b-spec rumours already would be indicitive that Ferrari are artificially pushing the car up the list.
Won't wash with the other teams, they will see it and know what is going on.

Perhaps its all a smokescreen ;)

I dont think it is, i think the ferrari is genuinely quick, but i think the mclaren has been running heavier for the most part which would explain why it's a second or so slower at the moment.

Thats what im hoping for anyway, i dont want ferrari to have a car that destroys the field. But we still have the redbull to look forward to, lets see what newey can pull out for the bag this year.

Testing last year didn't didn't reveal much bar the Brawns initial dominance. Reliability has been good so far this week. 3 stops overall? I remember many more last year.

It was pretty clear that Brawn were ahead, with toyota and redbull close behind. Ferrari were unreliable with average pace, while Mclaren were dog slow and that is how the season unfolded.

Ferrari and Mclaren are well ahead atm. Merc's are well off the pace with very little positive comments from the team/drivers. Redbull are an unknown quantity, but could suffer for the same reasons that Merc's are- starting the car late due to fighting for the WDC.

The scores on the doors, thanks to Autosport. Best time over the three days shown for each driver.

Code:

Pinch/tablespoon/truckload of salt required, as with all testing sessions, although I expect the final test at the end of Feb to be a bit more likely to what they will run in the opening race.

Next test for most teams will be next Wednesday.

It wasn't really until other teams started openly stating they were worried about the Brawn. When the teams started doing that you knew they had tried to match them for pace and couldn't in any config.

At the minute you have no idea whose running what, until a few teams start openly worrying about anothers pace it's guesswork.

Apparently Alonso was tailgating Button in the McLaren big time today. Do you think Ferrari fitted a camera really low on their car to get a look at the McLaren diffuser? :p

</tin foil head garment>

Given that Ferrari are slightly less....how shall I put it.....utterly ******* retarded at espionage than McLaren, I'm sure they could think of something even more subtle than that.

Actually, they'll probably just do what they did at Hockenheim in 1980, and send a squad to break into the garage to photograph the car in detail....

Given that there are quite a lot of people in the pitlane with large cameras already and some of them have team passes - they don't even need to break in anymore. ;)
