F1 Testing 2014: Week 1 Jerez

I can't believe only 4 cars have done a fast lap :(

Yeah.

Is there a rule that the teams can't build the cars up at home in the factory then ship them to the track?

That way they'd already know of any hydraulic or other issues before it's actually driven.

I know they fire up the engines in the factory and test them out.

The cars that did a shakedown (erm video day) should be best prepared at the moment.

Sound like it started raining, only 20 mins to go, but then Bottas and Vettel went out. Looks like Bottas got a decent lap in, Kimi/Hamilton only pushed 1:30 after quite a few laps and he did it on pretty much their first real run, but obviously with not much time left they have more incentive to push earlier.

Vettel did an installation lap, came in, now looks like Perez/Vettel back on track with 5 mins to go, they'll probably try and do a reasonable lap to steal some headlines, in Vettel's case he'll probably cruise to a 1:15 and watch the rest of the grid crapping in their pants.

S? From Sauber having it, or something else? (I'm assuming you mean the slot in the nose).

I wonder if its fed from under the nose above the T tray, or from the protrusion as the tip of the nose which looks to have slots in it from an earlier photo?

Wow, the RB is very narrow at the rear. 'S' duct? The slot under #1? Didn't they have something like it last year?

Interesting to see the nose tapers out at the end too. Lovely design to the 'fins' on the front wing.
