F1 Testing 2014: Week 3 Bahrain

Im gonna regret not putting a bet on Valerie winning the championship for Williams, for a small about of coinage. That would pay out big style if it happened..... Or is that just my wishful thinking!? :D

I can't see that. But Williams is the dark horse for me.

Engine trouble for Toro Rosso but Kimi is out on track to add to his 14 laps

I guess these sort of years have the most potential for that
Haven't really seen any positives from lotus. Maldanado may not be happy!

From Autosport:

"BEN ANDERSON has just wandered through the support race pits and bumped into Daniel Ricciardo, who is doing some promo work rather than driving the RB10 at the moment.

We understand that Red Bull is still battling overheating issues, and the team is not sure right now if it will get back out on track today."

Surprise...

Williams putting in some good times, I would also love a season where they are near the front again!

Nah, Bottas is the better driver of the two. Massa is in his twilight years, though I think he will do better this year than he did last year, but not better than Bottas, who will win the championship this year. :D

"Lotus has examined the E22 and found an exhaust problem. The exhaust was one of the 120 new parts for today. Lotus is stripping down the car for further investigation"

Dark horse for the title?
If thats what you mean, they will need a minor miracle to win the title.
You need top class drivers to win the title and they just dont have that.

Merc, McLaren, RBR, Ferrari, should all finish the season ahead of Williams, but only time will tell. We can discuss this at the end of the year. ;)

I'm expecting Vettel to win the title this year. Vettel knows how to win titles and this is a skill that not every driver possesses (no matter how fast they are). If they do not control/manage their drivers, Mercedes, if they have the fastest car, may not win the title. Just like in 2007 and 2012, when McLaren had the fastest car and didnt win the title.

Also, reliability is predicted to be a huge issue this year. So you may find the fastest cars break down, while the slower cars (setup for reliability), end up winning the points.

I'm looking forward to this year.
It looks unpredictable.

Bottas (Williams) 111
Magnussen (McLaren) 109
Perez (Force India) 91
Rosberg (Mercedes) 89
Sutil (Sauber) 61
Kvyat (Toro Rosso) 56
Raikkonen (Ferrari) 41
Chilton (Marussia) 38
Ricciardo (Red Bull) 32
Maldonado (Lotus) 31
Kobayashi (Caterham) 17

Lotus have finished for the day.

I'll probably end up eating my words when Vettel wins the title again...but boy is it looking hot on the Red Bull front...

You heard it here first...looks like Newey has built a Lemon :)

P.S. Loving it :)

The Renault side of the car is ok but newey has packaged it to tight so it's over heating.
I knew newey would do this ;)

I really want Hamilton to win it this year, I think he deserves a second championship tbh, especially after being screwed over by the team in 2012. However I will be happy if anyone beats Vettel.

Hamilton > Anyone but vettel > Vettel :D

In Monza last year I got a bit of animosity towards me for carrying a 5ftx3ft Union Jack, cue jeering about Alsono beating Hamilton etc. Promptly fixed the situation by saying 'Alonso can win, just not vettel!' at which point I had a new friend :D

That said I really want an underdog to do well - Marussia or Caterham to get their first points this season?

RB always have the best development in the season with Newey. Might start slow but they will keep gaining momentum like they do every year. Think the championship will go right down to the wire this season with 2-3 teams at it.

I think Force India could be right behind (possibly in front of?) the big teams this year, with a pair of rather decent drivers and a car that seems pretty good too.

Hopefully this makes 2014 a bit more exciting than 2011/12/13. :)
