F1 Testing 2014: Week 3 Bahrain

Were they lucky the other 3 years too? Let's not forget the double diffuser malarkey where they almost won coming from behind too.

I'll be concerned if Vettel gets in the car on the last day and doesn't put a decent number of laps down and with some fast times. It is getting very tight now and I am getting slightly more nervous for RBR.

Dont get me wrong, they have had some BRILLIANT ideas, clearly. But I still say that last year without the tyre change to suit them they wouldnt have won it.

Hamiltons just caused a red flag, the Merc. seems to have a bit of unreliability creeping back into it the more it gets pushed.

Perez (Force India) 17

New cooling holes for the Red Bull, not the most graceful solution I've seen.

PU homologation comes into effect at the end of today. Renault are said to have approached the FIA for this deadline to be moved back, by as much as 2-3 months.

If Renault really think they are that far behind, then the first few fly away races are certainly going to bad news for Renault powered teams. Certainly can't delay the start of the season!

Ferrari and Merc should do the same as they have had more problems then the Renault teams.

From the BBC

"Ferrari engine is 75BHP down on the Mercedes engines. and that Ferrari were confused how Mercedes were able to run that much power and still be fuel effecient. BTW, 75BHP is 0.7 seconds in lap time- James Allen"

Nice write up about the engine lock down http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2014/...ut-will-renault-be-able-to-lobby-for-changes/

The new hard tires are doing well on the Merc. Lewis done a long run in the 1.41 and 1.42 then done some 1.39s
to go 4th with a 1m39.041s

The McLaren is still in the garage problem unknown
