I think they were 'Lolo' balls in the UK. So much of a fad that our sports day had to be changed to have a race with these included. Needless to say it didn't return the following year.
Oh damn yes I had one of those. I can't remember what we called them though, Lolo and Pogo doesn't ring any bells. Space Hopper seems familiar but if I search it's something different.
Oh god I went to an all girls grammar school so the fads were ongoing!! We seemed to go through the backcombing phase, and the fingerless glove phase too. I had so many fingerless gloves from Claires and they were stripy too ahaha! WE also went through the phase of wool knee high socks like these ones! My best friend was obsessed with these for several months, and it'd be summer on the beach and she'd still have them on!! Girls definitely went through a phase at my school doing this because they didn't want to wear tights, and once one person did it so did everyone else.
I also remember the 'bands' phase where those little rubber wrist bands were the whole rage and people had them up to their elbows ahahah

Anyone remember Digimon? It was like a Tamagotchi (possibly popular a few years later) but you could battle people. I remember those being insanely popular.
I do remember something.
Brian Cox was on the other night and showed his book with cards in I think it was PG Tips and all the cards were based around NASA.
In the late 60s/early 70s ESSO used to do these cards/books that you could stick football players and badges in.
