Fallout 3 mods

I've just installed a no damage mod so my weapons & armour don't fall apart over time. I have the caps to fix them etc but it's becoming a pain using the Point Lookout guy or alien stuff to get my gauss rifle to 100%. I have 100% repair skill, first I installed a mod so I could repair with scrap metal but then lugging that around became annoying!

Repairing is pretty good with ****, you can repair with scrap metal and other scrap such as sensor modules, electronics etc for energy weapons. Also, any weapon that has the same ammo can be used to repair an item, so some lase pistols can repair the Guass rifle.

Coincidentally, i am in a similar position to you, with my Guass rifle broken, ihave to use Jessi to repair it.

I see you have disabled MTC wasteland travellers. so have i, it caused a lot of instability. I fear i will have to do the same with DC Interiors as well

Have you played through Vault 101 revisited yet?

Been looking at peoples load orders for mods so i got a screen grab of what mine looks like, got loads installed so its only the first 32 and i am Letting Boss arrange them for me and have had no problems so far, only mods i think caused me problems were Dc Combo Interiors and the Space Marine mod ;)

Might do a few mod quest mods but i am happy with the way things are at the moment and its running great appart from a occasion crash but i think thats just the game anyway :p

Seem to have it stable with these mods:

Don't think slower degradation is working though.

Can't install weather mod, just get random freezing, tried loads of different orders.

Are you on a Quad Core? After I applied the Quad Core fix earlier in this thread I've had 1 freeze in around 4 hours gaming. Before hand it was at least every 10 mins.

Good luck mate

Just completely reinstalled, and downloaded all the files off there and enabled ArchiveInvalidation. Still crashing when I'm out of the vault, patched to 1.7 etc. Here's load order.

I have the main Wasteland Travellers ticked, it's only the 2 optional extra one's that I am not using, I haven't found any instability with the main one though. Haven't got around to Vault 101 revisited yet, that will be next. I un checked it whilst trying to discover why things were crashing, then forgot to re check it when making my merged patch. I've heard it's good :)

Really enjoying DC interiors. I've played through FO3 and it's DLC at least 5 times without mods and can honestly say that I have never took the time to explore the DC ruins outside the quests, I generally preferred exploring the wasteland. This mod gives me reason to brave the super mutants and go wandering. I do get a CTD since installing it, but if it doesn't occur when loading my save then it won't occur at all when the games loaded which is good enough for me.

Also installed the Underground Hideout mid but haven't got around to heading down Rivet City way to find it.

Can anyone recommend a 3rd person camera mod? I won't use the 3rd person camera for gameplay so it will be for screenshot purposes only really and the default over shoulder and static rotate doesn't really do it for me.

Alright, so I tried doing a vanilla run, and its still crashing. Any ideas? I can't really take it back to where I bought it.

If your on a Quad core def do the quad core fix from earlier in the thread it solved 99% of my crashes. I went from crashing every 10 mins or so to 1 crash in over 6 hours play.

I've just done a few more quests for Vault 101 Revisited. Excellent stuff:)

First i kitted myself out with some Outcast armour

The i made my wasy to the Dunwhich Building to start the quest

And into the cave where i met these Nightmare Bears and their leader. They are very tough and the leader is probably the hardest creature i have faced

Unfortunately, whilst spraying my laser pistol around i disintegrated Dogmeat:(

Then i got into the main chamber to find a load of nutjobs dancing around and it got a little bit surreal......

This is the point where you get to choose which ending you want for the quest. I ended up choosing the light ending as opposed to the dark one.

This really is a fantastic mod. It is very hard though

I've just done Zeta.
Awesome!!

Got any screenshots?:D

I accidentally started it during my game, but loaded an earlier save so i still haven't done it

Everyone says it's the weakest one but it's great!.

Mothership Zeta Crew mod adds a whole other layer of epicness to it as well. I played it ages ago on a different playthrough and loved it. They have added quite a bit to it since then though.

That looks great, gonna have a bash at that now, i have just been exploring the waste land visiting locations i havent finished :). Just hope i find enough noka cola quantum to finish the quest off, i sold loads off on my travels until i picked the quest up that needs me to find 30 of them :(

This Archiveinvalidation Invalidated thing, do you have to run this everytime you install a new mod or is it a one time activation thing?

Edit: Another noddy question. I downloaded FOOK2 1.2beta, ie. the main file, hotfix, and the 3 data files, i.e. part 1, 2 and 3. The data files have the extension .7z.001, 002, 003. I tried opening the first data file direct with winrar and it says it is corrupt. Am I opening it correctly? Winrar has opened all the other .7z files I've downloaded, its just these ones are out of the ordinary in that they have the 001 etc extension. They appear to not be ascociated with a program in explorer, that's why I tried opening them in winrar manually. Any ideas?

You only have to run Archiveinvalidation once

As for the FOOK2 files, i installed them through 7z, as Winrar wouldn't do it for me. Maybe it has something to do with the filenames ending in 001 etc, i'm not sure.
I do know that you definitely should NOT rename them:)

I found thagt the data files only worked when i opened the 7z file manager then found the files

That did the trick, although I had to start a new game as some doors wouldn't open and some textures were transparent in the game I had going.

Next question is about the DC Interiors mod, exactly which of the files do you install? I downloaded a "combo" file and all the individual "zone" files, but the read.me in the combo file is a bit ambiguous about which files you should not install, it mentions by name the "zone" files that you shouldn't install if you install the combo, but it doesn't mention them all, specifically the wasteland one and one other.

But when you look at the files in the zip, then going by the names of the files in that, some of the zones it doesn't explicitly say not to install are actually in file anyway it seems. I can't remember the name of the one it does include but its not the wasteland one, its the other one beginning with T I think.

Is there a definitive list of which to install for the current version?

Just install the files in the Combo archive, nothing else is required.
