Fallout 3 mods

You have to run the game through FOMM, run with FOSE option to use mods which require FOSE (most do)

I think shift changes between walk and run, but not sprint. You will need a seperate mod for sprinting.
holding shift should make you walk instead of run and caps lock should toggle between them

Yes it means there are missing meshes. It must be down to the FOOK2 folders being in the worng place or maybe missing is all i can think.
This also happens when ArchiveInvalidation is not set up.

Basically, a mod has altered an item(FOOK2 is the only mod you are using that does this), but the texture/mesh is missing for the item

FFS. I'm really sorry to be a pain. I'm just gonna reinstall this game and make sure that I do it properly this time.

It's weird, I backed up the local game content, but everytime I try to reinstall it via the exe, it just keeps connecting to the servers to download it?!

FUUUUU Steam

I had to reinstall FO3 a few times due to things like this. Thank God for Steam Back up though!

TBH though, you shouldn't have to reinstall as FOOK2 is the only mod you have done so far, so you will just have to overwrite the files

Have you actually run the Archiveinvalidation program? you know it is not just a plugin, you have to run the exp

I ran the exe and clicked activate, I hope that was enough? :p

Looks like I have to redownload fallout. Steam just isn't letting me install it via the backup

I still can't get rid of the silly pauses, makes the game unplayable.

It never did that when I originally bought it 2 years ago!

By the grace of god I've managed to restore fallout 3, now I'm going to try to reinstall the mods in the right order.

Pighardia - do I do archive invalidation first, or after all the other mods have been installed?

Doesn't really matter, but some think it's best to do it after every mod you install. Some people run it, then install a mod, run it again, install another mod etc.
I have never had to do this(i just throw them all together and hope for the best and then work through the problems:p)

First thing to do would be set up FOMM and FOSE.

Definitely make sure you are putting them in the right folder though. All ESP's/ESM's textures/meshes etc need to go in the Fallout3goty/data folder:)

Think I'll have a bash at FO3 later on tonight, since I have time for once!
Just installed the RAM Boost mod so it uses over 2GB of RAM, NMC's texture pack uses a whacky amount of system resources.

I'm also going to install the underground hideout mod, thanks for sharing that guys!

Ram boost mod???? orly??? :D

I've just enabled it to see if it'll stop my freezing.

It's not induced by mods because the vanilla game was freezing too.

RAM Boost Mod Linky

Instructions are included in the file, super easy to do! I got 2 or 3 crashes before using it, now it's crash-free!
I'm just looking for the mod which disables the immediate startup of all DLC. What's the point in you getting notifications of Point Lookout etc after only just exiting the vault.

Here are some smaller mods which i have used and would recommend. They are mostly just single esp plugins which have no compatability problems whatsoever.

Leather Backpack Adds a Wearable backpack to Moira's inventory in Megaton which you can buy. It adds 50 to your encumbrance and looks really nice. You can also have your companions wearing them
Also includes a mattress which can be put down and used anywhere

Sunglasses Collection adds a new shop in rivet City which sells many different types of sunglasses. I'm running around with my Aviators on atm:cool:

Sprint mod adds the ability to sprint. It drains AP as you use it. Very handy

Ultimate Perk Pack Adds more perks than you will know what to do with. Some are very interesting.

Taking Out the Trash is an excellent mod which removes a lot of the trash in the streets and interiors of the gameworld. It is a while since the bombs have dropped, someone could clear things up a bit!

Another great mod which is almost essential is Fallout Reanimated. It changes loads of animations in the game such as how people hold guns and fire. It is just a texture folder so there is no esp and no conflicts at all.

Bottle That Water is a great mod which allows you to bottle water from any source in the wasteland. It is great in conjunction with a needs mod such as Imps or RI Primary needs, or the one included with FWE. Also, when you drink water you gain an empty bottle
