Fallout: New Vegas

I would like to see Steam integrate its workshop into NV. I also would love to see a semi-realistic mod that did away with giant bugs and have more realistic looking factions, a bit like the tv series "Revolutions".

Fallout wasn't about realism. If it was, the first game wouldn't have giant bugs, The Master, supermutants, ghouls, etc. Radiation would be more than just an annoyance cured by Rad-X\Rad-Away, and half the weapons wouldn't exist.

I found some awesome armour, but I can't ware it, is there someplace I can dump it safely for use later on?

Looks like I need to do a brotherhood of steel mission to get powered armour perk. I'm only lvl 3
No idea how I got a laser pistol but some how I did then found several dead brotherhood of steel in amongst centaurs. Which I could kill with a mix of the dynamite and laser pistol. Now have a laser rifle :)

You can safely store items at any safe house. These include places like the hotel room you can rent/earn at Novac, the hotel room you can rent at the Atomic Wranger, the Lucky 38 presidential suite, the Tops Casino high rollers suite or presidential suite. And there are others as well.

Don't think I've found any of these places yet.

There is a hotel room in Novac where you can store your gear safely(have yo reached Novac yet?) or the Lucky 38 in the strip.

You would probably do best following the main quest for a bit tbh... There are lots of natural breaks in the story too, where you can just wander off and do your own thing.

Nope haven't got to Novac yet.
Good springs (+ cemetery, cave, source), jean sky diving, Sloan hidden valley, ncr correction facility, powder ganger south & west camp, prism, Nevada highway patrol.

You get a lot more xp for completing quests than killing things too. Just doing the quests from the first ranger station should put you up a few levels. You are nearly there, the one with the big statues.

I would recommend carrying on through the main story until you reach Novac at least. And probably even then pushing on to till you reach the strip and meet Mr House. The Lucky 38 room is probably the best safehouse in the game, plus its a central hub for a lot of different locations. You can always backtrack to do the quests you missed on the way there.

Yeah, once you get to the strip, it is a good time to just basically go off and explore.... And there is plenty to do!

^you don't have to do the quests, but it will be a better experience imo if you did. The main quests at first is basically just following some people, so it is a good excuse to explore, and do the quests in that vicinity while you're at it.

Yup the main quests lead you to Novac within an hour or so... Doing some main quests to level up to at least Level 12-15 will benefit you as when you explore you will be able to tackle more things instead of being raped all the time

Decided to start again, with increase strength, perception and inteligence and low charisma. Ah well who needs words, when you have a gun.
Will do the quests.

I always up charisma, as I love the Terrifying Presence perk;) I never add to. Strength or endurance tbh, just Charisma, intelligence and agility(for guns). If anything, I lower Strength, Luck and endurance from default:p.

This all depends on my playstyle though. For a playthrough where I tried to kill nobody at all, I put charisma and agility to 10 straight off(speech and stealth;)). I did play a mele playthrough too, and upped strenth to 10 and it was fun...you need good armour though!

You do get plenty of opportunities to add to your original SPECIAL stats throughout the game through cyber implants etc anyway(which I always end up doing, as my luck is awful in casinos!)

I just started a new game to play as a Laser weapon using character, I swear the powder gangers weren't this advanced last playthrough?! They take ages to kill and have battle rifles and upgraded plasma weapon things! Took me a while to complete that mission due to that :p

Used the underground hideout mod and love it! It's slightly cheaty, but gives the player a cool base. The armoury is best, having all your ammo stocked perfectly on the shelves looks epic!
