Fallout: New Vegas

Okay im just exploring entirely and the map really is not helping basicly on the world map i can zoom into it close but i cant zoom out far enough to see the name of the locations ive discoverd??

Which is annoying cause i went to a place called "Neils Shack" he reccomened me to go somewere and i got a map marker added(location) but cant zoom out to see it.

Any ideas?

Haha :p I don't really run out of ammo too much - but I do run out of stimpaks quite a lot! I'm finding I'm raiding peoples fridges and cupboards a lot more for snacks etc. in this game than the previous Fallout 3 :p

lol stimpaks are easy, ya just gotta duck an hide sometimes in teh gunfights lol

All up, a decent rpg/shooter so far. I'm only using UI mods at this stage and the no-autoaim mod. I'll play this through as intended then on the second playthrough I'll mod the crap out of it :D

Hang on, it has autoaim?

Are you telling me they didn't even bother to put Hunger/Thirst/Sleep icon on the UI? Wow they really are lazy...

Yep, it's working, picked up my card as a 7900GS.

try setting water multisampling to low qualty ?

aparently some people with 460 cards got bad performance until they turned that down (even if there was no water on screen)

its fine for me though using the latest WHQL drivers and the .dll fix

Running well for me using the .dll, only slowdown I get is the same as FO3, when I got hit with a flamethrower :p

No crashes or glitches appart from a few enemies being inside a bookshelf. Running on high/ultra, probably could go a bit more but I'm not 100% if SLI is working all the way.

I've got a GTX260, take it the DLL won't make any difference for me? I've put it in the NV folder, but the options dialog still shows my 260 (though weirdly, two 260s)

Assuming its the same as fo3, it's not autoaim in the traditional sence... but it's an RPG, and you have a luck stat, which effects your aiming as well. A lot of the time it's auto-aim-in-completely-the-wrong-direction.

I thought that was VATS only?

Why were you expecting anything different?

That is not what I said.
I didn't even mention expectation, it was a statement.
I am surprised that it cost full price for what is essentially an expansion.

I thought companions could always die? And thats basically everything you got as part of FWE so its nothing new. What sort of weights did they give ammo? What sort of effectiveness do the stimpaks have? Think FWE had them healing less than half what they normally did over 5-10 seconds or somet.

Am only playing on normal for now, and so far companions just get KO'ed and get up a few minutes later.

Not sure on the rest, will probably give HC mode a go on my second play through.

Any one else attempting to get to jacobstown only to get them wierd wasps things attack you and couple hits and dead??

Im level 5 so i sense that may be why lol

This is strange, I started a new game and got a steady 60FPS, then the game crashed and when I come to load an autosave it comes back to the same <10fps

Pentium dual core 2GHz (basicaly a C2D but with lower cache), 2GB DDR2, 8800gt, 1280x1024 with mostly max settings = runs like a dream, I didn't even need that .dll :D
