Fallout: New Vegas

Well I am loving this game. I have played about 8 hours in total and not had a single CTD or graphic bug. Enjoying roaming and exploring which is something I failed to do on release of FO3. Trying to avoid the main story and stick to side quests for now.

I'll give it a shot cheers. Just wish I had bothered cancelling the game before it was released, I always felt from the screenshots that it would be Fallout 3.5.

Arrgh what were you expecting?!?! :p

You knew it was built on the FO3 engine - so other than a completely new story and some enhancements - what else would it be?!

It is definitely Fallout 3.5 - but that is what I was expecting and I got what I wanted :D

It's epic at the moment :)

Anyone know any website that have guides/tips on character creation, I know it is similar to FO3 but it has been so long since I last played that and I don't want to have to recreate my character down the line after many hours of playtime. Also, I remember in fallout 3 that some perks had certain requirements and the game manual doesn't list any of them so I have no idea what to try and aim for stats wise.

Also, does anyone know how to change the mouse in menu screen? it seems fine while controlling my character, but when I have a cursor up it seems like there is mouse acceleration or something.

Well only played an hour but not had any issues yet.

Intel Q9300
4GB DDR2 1066
ATi 4890
Win7 64bit

Like it not left first town yet either just did the first gang fight so to speak dynamite ***! :D

I must have skipped this "caravan" card game :p

Although I thought the first town was boring (And I was playing an evil character :p) - So I did some stealing and got out of Dodge as soon as I could :p

This is better than FO3 imo. The start is a bit uninspired but once you get several hours into it, it starts coming together nicely. The writing/dialogue feels better as well as the voice acting and the different factions mechanic is also an improvement. I like the card minigame, not just some lame rubbish side game like we saw in games like Mass effect etc. I'm playing on hardcore-very hard and it feels just about right for me. Not bothered recruiting any companions yet though (met 2 already) so maybe it is a bit too easy if you have companions. I tend to play these games lone-wolf anyway so will carry on like this for now.

All up, a decent rpg/shooter so far. I'm only using UI mods at this stage and the no-autoaim mod. I'll play this through as intended then on the second playthrough I'll mod the crap out of it :D

Runs like absolute garbage for me, even with the .dll patch as mentioned on here.

Even on lowest settings I can barely play the game at above 10fps.

E8400 @ 3.6 and a GTX460 768MB.

you sure the dll is working right? when you go into the settings on the launcher is should say 7900GS

btw just found a cool weapon

Ive got some strange framerate issues, whenever i enter vats sometimes i get slow down like my frames completely drop below 10. Caused me a crash to desktop twice and ive tried updating my video card drivers/directx.
I'm also getting some odd lag during enemy encounters not just in vats.
