Fallout: New Vegas

Im sure there are spoilers applenty so don't read on unless you've completed the game :)

SPOILER:
...

Just like all the other minor factions in the game, the main factions want them wiped out but if you do missions for the minor factions (such as BoS) then you can get them to support the main faction of your choice and thus not have to destroy them.

what guns do people like? I love the cowboy repeater, seem to be a lot about always got mine repaired. Anybody use any melee weapons? I might start doing that, got a lot of LEgions after me with knives

The Dinner Bell - Shotgun rifle, this thing is immense!
and
Sniper rifle for keeping those Death claws out of there attach range.

Zero me-lee weapons - I'm beginning to wish i put more skill points in to it and the quick draw perk.

Not true, for both the NCR I explained that the BOS were on my side already and the NCR said something like "you don't understand the level of animosity between the BOS and NCR they must be destroyed", House's comment was along the lines of the BOS would never accept a wasteland ruled technology that wasn't theirs.

Not sure what to do.

Oh and speach skill can't be a factor as I have 100 speach :) (only maxed stat)

Thats different though, isn't it? Thats reputation with the Legion, rather than your overall Karma.

So I'm told, overall Karma from general good/bad deeds only has an impact on the game ending...

I'm not sure.... I'm pretty sure I hadn't interacted with the leigion at that point (other than meeting them in nipton). I mostly sided with the NCR on my first playthrough.

Yes, it is true. I did NCR on my first play through and I managed to not destroy BoS. In fact I got the BoS and NCR to agree to a truce.

Just because you have failed to gain the repuation, or do the required quests, does not mean its not true.

The vendors in my game don't seem to be restocking. I've checked the ones I know a number of times now but they are all low on caps and ammo. I really need to off load some crap.

Is this a bug? I'm pretty sure that a lot of ingame days have passed since I bought the items from them..

73 in game hours between restocks iirc.

Easy there!

Anything constructive to add? Both sides love me and I am a member of the BOS. Guessing its a bug in the game

Potential spoiler:
I just double checked, and found out that it all comes down to who you helped in terms of BoS leadership. If you helped Hardin who through the dialog you can tell only wants to fight then you have no choice but to destroy the BoS. Where as if you helped McNamara who is the reasonable one (which was my choice) then you have the option of a peaceful resolution. By the sounds if it you chose Hardin who is only interested in combat, and so that is what you are stuck with.

Also, Keep in mind that Yes Man, Mr House, NCR and Ceasars legion are mutualy exclusive, you can do some quests for all of them but up to a point you have to pick one, doing the main story quests for each can potentialy screw things up a bit.

Thanks that's really useful.

Who is who in the BOS? I left the original BOS leader inplace as the other guy seemed a little on the hostile side.

Oh and I know theyre all mutually exclusive, just wanted to progress each as far as possible before I went with one (just wanted to see who the the most evil!).

McNamara is the original BoS leader, he is the one that is needed if you want a truce between BoS and NCR. If the truce is still not an option make sure you have done all the quests, there is 2 quests for the leader of the BoS (ends with you getting the location of the other safehouse and power armour training) and 2 other quests (one involving a computer virus, the other a missing weapon).

For the BOS and NCR, I couldn’t at 1st get them to agree on a truce, but if you go back to the leader of the BOS at a later date the speech box appears for it.

Well im in that creepy casino where they eat human flesh and the game keeps crashing there, well done for releasing the most bug ridden game ive ever played! (still my game of the year though)

Despite using 10.c / d drivers, in some parts of the game I still find performance a bit lacking, still certainly playable but not smooth, so I have reverted back to 10.4. Doesn't seem to have made the experience any worse in the area I am roaming around in atm, this means I can have my cooler, lower clocks back. :)

For those that are interested in a little modding i have started a thread HERE that may be of interest, there is also some bug fix mods and performance improvements that have helped me and many others get this game running smooth and bug free :)

You lay three start cards each. As the game progresses the idea is to lay cards onto each "caravan" or pile to total a value of 26 in each.

The catch is you can only move in one direction, so if you have a 5 and a 6 already put down, you can now only place a 7, 8, 9 or 10. Cards with the same suite ignore this rule.

You can place Jacks, Queens and Kings next to a number card to do extra things. Kings double the value of the card (also good for sabotaging his perfect 26), Queens reverse the direction of the pile, Jacks remove the card (helpful to place those on the opponent's high value cards).

Once a pile reaches 21 I think it is, it counts as a bid. So if he's got three piles under 26 but still higher than your three over 20, he wins.

I found actually controlling the game pretty awkward at first.

I've not played Caravan yet - I'm still looking at it and getting confused by it all.

I have also managed to glitch 'Heartache by the Number' and 'You can depend on me', so I'm trying to look for a workaround at the moment!

I think my quests Heartache by the Number and You can depend on me are bugged as well. I don't have the speech skill or barter to talk Cass into selling and I can't see any other options.
