Fallout: New Vegas

It's not a mod

I found him in the Fire Root Cavern

No idea what he's there for

these are the old devs, just like Fo 1&2 there's a lot of little in jokes/Easter eggs.

like in fallout 2 there was actually an Easter egg.

Spent ages trying to do something with it :o

I bought combat armour from the guy in the dam, he charged me for it but it didnt appear in my inventory, I mean seriously, whats that all about! Nearly 3 grand! And I cant find anyone to repair anywhere apart from the Gibson bird and she's a rip off!

Make sure you remove the DX9 DLL stuttering fix as many people forgot to after patching then wondered why it was not ultra smnooth for them on high end hardware ;)

Been holding of on this one. Even tho I loved Fallout 1+2 and the 3.

Are the bugs in the game fairly ironed out now?

Slightly off topic, how do the consoles get patches?? Do they need to be networked etc..

Where can you download patch officially?

Even on the Official website they only have FO3 patch, but no Vegas?

im obviously looking in wrong place.

Is the game steam only?

Plus this patch has sorted the game out?

Performance is identical to running the game prepatch with the dx9 .ddl fix for me. There are still noticeable frame drops when npcs are around. For a game that looks this dated a medium specced machine should be able to max it at a constant 60fps. Not that impressive

Having said all this, I love it. Significantly better than FO3. I'm 50 or so hours in and only just hit Vegas :)

Is there a way to disable vsync? Forcing it to "off" in the nvidia control panel doesn't seem to do much...

Setting iPresentInterval=1 to 0 in the fallout.ini and setting the file to read only afterwards worked for me.

Got this the other day, really enjoying it so far, more so than FO3 tbh.

Just doing a bit of exploring with a companion, she seems to destroy everyone with her power fist, It's saving me a lot of ammo :)

Only seen one or two bugs so far, just a few npc's getting stuck. I did have one where there were a few fire ants underneath the floor, they could hit me but I couldn't hit them, just a matter of reloading a save from a few minutes earlier. Performance wise it's running great for me so far, just get the odd jitter when lots of stuff is happening.

Had the patch downloaded last night and gave it a shot just now. Seems miles smoother now as my system was detected with Ultra High settings. Shame the game is dull as hell. Seen one Fallout 3 room, seen them all in NV.
