Far Cry 4 due this November

Yeah, I thought that. However, FC3 was good and the story in this seems pretty compelling. As we already know the mechanics work and so on, I guess it's a pretty safe bet. I'd be annoyed if I'd of paid the full price though, Ubisoft are really milking their cash cows dry.

I take back what I said as I was waiting for the game to finish downloading...

With my sig rig Im running with everything maxed at 1920x1080 and its really smooth. After reading about these issues on the forum I was expecting it to run like a dog but I am pleastantly surprised to see otherwise.

Granted Ive literally only just played the first mission but Im not getting any bad stuttering or big FPS drops, yes Im getting some low FPS on occasion but that hasnt detracted from the gameplay at all.

Ive got the latest nvidia drivers for my two GTX 670 F.T.W's in SLI and running on Windows 8.1 fully up to date.

The overall setting is on 'Custom' and everything set to Ultra with TXAA 4x and HBAO+ which are the highest settings I believe.

So far good game, loved the intro with Pagan Min.

Exactly, I loved Assassins Creed up until the 3rd or 4th game, I loved Far Cry 3.

Then Watch dogs, good idea, too similar to other Ubisoft franchises, then Far Cry 4, same issue.

Good games on their own but when you play them all it's all too similar.

There is a driver update/fix out for Nvidia 980 for any issue (not FC4 specific).

Its in the Nvidia driver thread thanks to Boom.

With at least one of the models you can buy, you can spec some attachments. I don't remember which one, but I got one with 2 attachments, so I stuck on the extended scope and suppressor, but not the extended mag. I'll have a quick check in a minute for the model name/number.

There's so much money to be made in this game, its almost meaningless. I've been sticking custom paint jobs on my weapons just to use it up :)


Edit: It's the M-700, you can spec it when you buy it, but also click on customise on any trade screen and you can buy them or change them there.

After the initial issues getting it installed playing on my gaming laptop has been a dream.

Get home after a long week away boot it up on my gaming PC and discover black bars with my native res of 1920 1200?!

I naively thought the complaints about unsupported resolutions was for new ultra widescreen resolutions!
