Far Cry 4 due this November

While it can be funny it says a lot about the game when it can't even manage 2 cars to pass without slamming into each other.

Ive seen it in other games though so even though it may be caused by weak coding, its like a "ghost in the machine". For example, see this video below of a traffic jam in GTA 5 gone mad, its hilarious due to the game code going a bit nuts.

Not a silly qn - but it seems when you tick all processors, including HTs, it defaults back to using ONE core. All cores ticked is what it is at anyway. I didn't write this POS game so not sure why lol

I found ticking only your actual cores or one less spreads the load

/confused

Does that stop the stutter? I'll give it a go later, planning on doing some co-op with a mate.

I have messed about and my settings are

1. NVInspector bits
0x081902F5 (Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon DLC, Far Cry 3)

2. SLI force AFR1

3. MipMap thingy 0

4. Render frame ahead 3

5. CPU spread over FOUR physical cores of six

Stutter 'seems' gone

Stealthing outposts with the sniper rifle is almost impossible simply because every time I set myself up and begin picking people off I suddenly get attacked by a random pack of dogs or whatever and the subsequent shooting of them alerts the outpost to my presence.

Sigh.

They have definitely ramped up the wildlife attacks since FC3.

I'm quite annoyed that they have over done those "moments". I remember in FC3 the first time I put away the camera while scouting an outpost and heard a growl, turned around and a leopard was sat next to me. I jumped out my skin, it was great. But in FC4 this is just the expected, and is so tedious that I'm actually surprised to not be attacked.

There's a lot of "people liked this in FC3, so lets add loads of those!"

Agreed on the animal attacks. One of the things that really started to get on my nerves. I just expect to turn round now and have either an eagle swooping towards my face or a pack of dogs about to jump on me from several angles.

Definitely a little too much of that.

Me and my friend played some co-op earlier to do the Fortress missions, after all the hype they received I have to say we were both very disappointed in them.

All four of them were extremely easy and took no longer than 5 minutes to complete. One of them only had around 5 enemies.

it's fine with SLI

FC4 is much better now, but it looks like there's something wrong with the coding, because there's just far too much krap going on, everywhere you walk you hear gunfire and shouting, it feels so wrong doesn't it, the game looks like it's about 70% over populated

the shooting is great once you equip your guns with silencers, because then the camps are really easy to take out, but due to the massive amount of animal attacks, it isn't safe to walk around with a sniper rifle in your hand, there's only one weapon that scares them off instantly............the FLAME THROWER :D

Apparently its an issue with sli and gsync monitors such as the swift. Ive used it with sli here on a standard monitor.

Are you on about selecting DSR in the Nvidia Experience settings or actually creating a custom res in the NVCP? I cannot do either

I have completed three in the first area on my own (partly because I have no friends haha). Very easy

I found that the fortresses were fairly easy but led both my and my brother to try stupid things in the vain hope of making it look cool or just have fun.

For instance the fortress with the mined bridge that is built into the cliff face was good for long distance target practice. I snuck in and told my brother roughly where they were and he was fired arrows at them without even being in sight of them. Or sneaking into the cave and doing zipline\abseiling air kills

The forts can be more difficult depending on how you play, The reason for this is simple - during the campaign you'll weaken the moral of the troops in each region which in turn weakens the regions fortress, making it easier to capture.
The front gates will be open rather than shut/blocked
The walls will be scalable using the grappling hook
There will be no mines
There will be fewer enemies inside

Am running this on an i7 2600K and a GF770. It stutters a fair bit here and there and I get occasional black flickers, but it's OK. I'm hoping they patch this soon and fix the horrible mouse movement as well. Have tried turning things off via the XML files but not sure I want to go down the hardcore unpack route yet...

Overall it's a decent game, but I preferred the setting of FC3. It just felt more inviting - I've always wanted to go a tropical island and it made me feel like I was there.
