Far Cry 4 due this November

you just find somewhere to hide where they cant outflank you, stay there and keep killing them until you hear the helicopters arrive.... because your mistake is to run around out in the open like a lunatic.

this is the 1st FAR CRY game that you dont really need the Special weapons, because my normal guns with attachments kill everything easily......

the only things that are hard to kill are the animals at sudden short range, you basically die every time

it's not as good as FC3 for the pure quality of shooting, but there's much more to do in this game and it's far more interesting !!!!

to give it a fair review this game only has a few faults.

1.........too many bandits all over the place
2.........too many animals
3.........the gear is way too expensive

i've done loads of good stuff for these guys, so as far as i'm concerned the special guns should be free and unlock much easier.

i.e you should get a free Special for every fortress that you capture, not just a rubbishy old pistol.....a top end weapon

Am running this on an i7 2600K and a GF770. It stutters a fair bit here and there and I get occasional black flickers, but it's OK. I'm hoping they patch this soon and fix the horrible mouse movement as well. Have tried turning things off via the XML files but not sure I want to go down the hardcore unpack route yet...

Overall it's a decent game, but I preferred the setting of FC3. It just felt more inviting - I've always wanted to go a tropical island and it made me feel like I was there.

yes FC4 feels cold and breezy, i prefer a warmer climate, i actually feel cold whilst gaming it's most odd......but FC3 warms me up especially if you look towards the sun....maybe it's because my tv is so massive..it's really strange but it's definitely there.....in FC4 i actually feel cold when i enter the water

Are you on about selecting DSR in the Nvidia Experience settings or actually creating a custom res in the NVCP? I cannot do either

I have completed three in the first area on my own (partly because I have no friends haha). Very easy
DSR in experience, Gregster and pgi have reported the same with the swift not allowing DSR to work with sli.

DSR limitations explained in the link in this post.

This game is unplayable for me now.

50/60 FPS but it feels more like 15. Some of the previous points are right too, way to many animal attacks now. The rhino is stupid, if one finds you off guard you will die.

The game feels so bad to play too, the mouse controls are horrible.

I did a couple of the tweaks posted earlier in this thread and disabled AA, the game runs perfectly fine for me now. No stutters, no large dips and all other settings maxed out.

I know some would rather have their eyes removed with a spoon than look at a game without AA but personally i dont think the game needs it.

I disabled AA on my game and it made absolutely no difference to the stuttering or FPS at all.

running a 2500k ...at stock clocks
980gtx
144hz monitor(shouldn't make a difference)
using a 360pad

DisableLoadingMip0="1"
changed the prerender frames to 3 in nividia inspector

and the stuttering has gone.

Maybe AHCI makes a difference ?

Tried all the fixes, nothing. I get good FPS but it just feels like 15 FPS constantly.

2600k Stock
GTX 680
16GB of RAM
SSD

not sure then, i did get the stuttering before i made the changes, most noticeable when driving and now it just isn't there.

maybe the amount of ram on the graphics card makes a difference.

If it's throttling one of the cores, then overclock that 2600k

Also are textures set to low? What AA level you using? Need to keep it under 2GB usage, which I found was low/SMAA with my 670s @1080 (unless that's a 4GB 680).

On Ultra tex with some AA I'm still not going over 2.5 though @1440 on 970. The game handles texture scaling in a strange way (see my earlier post).

Using the optimised settings in the Nvidia drivers, changing settings does absolutely nothing for the frame rate or stutter.

I've also checked and all CPU cores are staying around 70/80% usage.
