Far Cry 4 due this November

FC4 mods seem to have started....

http://www.pcgamer.com/far-cry-4-modded-already/

Developers site....

http://jravens.wix.com/farcrymods

What it changes....

Features Include:

* Does not alter your official 1.4.0 patch! Mod files have been moved to the smaller patch_hd.dat & patch_hd.fat files. This results in a much smaller download and a more stable mod for you. Be sure to back up your existing patch_hd.dat & patch_hd.fat files.

* Incorporates my attachments mod which restores many attachments to many of the weapons in FC4.

* Removed mouse acceleration (credit to Redditor Cr1N for discovering this! http://www.reddit.com/r/farcry/comments/2n5w68/far_cry_4_mouse_fix_tested_on_103/ )

* Removed Intro videos since Ubi broke/removed support for -skipintro. I will restore these if Ubi fixes that.

* Days and nights last approximately twice as long. You can still use the bed in any safe house to change the time.

* First pass at reducing the amount of Eagle attacks. Let me know if you think it's helping. \o/ EAGLE!!

* New Additional Keyboard Commands - Reload: Press RELOAD to reload weapon. Press and hold RELOAD to bring up the Weapon Selection Wheel. This is like it was in FC3. You can still press or press and hold 1-4 to select weapons or bring up weapons wheel.

* New Additional Keyboard Commands - Heal: Press HEAL to use syringe or manually healing (no these cannot be separated yet). Press and hold HEAL to bring up Syringe Crafting Wheel. To craft a syringe select syringe and press LMB. To use a syringe select it and press E and then release Q.
New Additional Keyboard Commands - Cycle Special Arrows: Press Y to cycle special arrows. Press and hold Y to equip repair torch (this is a little temperamental still trying to work the kinks out - note you can always approach a broken vehicle and be prompted to use E to pull out your torch).

* New Additional Keyboard Commands - L button brings up skill page. I had also added I for Inventry, J for Journal, P for Progress etc. but ANOTHER Ubi bug is preventing any of those keys (and several others on the right side of the keyboard) from functioning when assigned in keybindings. Great Caesar's ghost Ubi can you fix some of this please!?

* Adjusted Item Costs. Purchase costs in easy difficulty are the same (x1). Purchase costs in normal difficulty are double (x2) and purchase costs in hard are triple (x3). Selling costs remain unchanged.

* No more free weapons from towers. You have to pay for them (or find them on enemy bodies). Several weapons cannot be purchased until you complete story missions or do specific activities. Removed Bell Tower popups telling you that you earned free weapons.

* No more seeing enemies through walls. You can still tag them with icons over their heads if you leave weapons tagging on. You can still see them on the minimap if you leave the minimap on.

* REQUIRED BY MINISTRY OF TRUTH - New handbook image for Pagan Min. (The bloody pen image while funny isn't very appropriate for a handbook written by his propaganda machine).

* Removed pins from world map for discovered locations. This does not affect the undiscovered question marks (?). My OCD was going overtime at the dozens of pin marks on the world map that I in all likelihood will never visit again. NOTE: This doesn't affect mission locations, outposts, fortresses, major points of interest, etc. but if you absolutely must find a specific place you can slowly mouse over the area where it should be and it will still popup a notation for you of the locations name and offer to place a waypoint there. Basically the icons are still there, they are just blank.

* Removed objective arrows that show in your first person HUD. These are annoying and Ubi's option to turn them off is broken. I'll restore them when/if Ubi fixes the option to turn them off.

* Now with 100% more boobies! -> Removed body paint from the Arena guards... "upper torso" area

.....might be worth keeping an eye on its development, considering that another official patch is due this week and so the mod will probably need to change.

1362MB... had better have a billion fixes in it :).

Did a quick test and it seems much better. Mouse is vastly improved now. Game ran smooth apart from the big lag when enemy car rams into your car near the start and knocks you over the cliff.

didnt you moan earlier in the thread about the random animal attacks? Now you want them to kill you without having a chance?? The story is a bit silly, but I'm just going with it and enjoying the pretty damn fine gameplay. It's a fun game imo.

yes the shooting is perfect it always has been.........but the animal attacks are far too often and totally spoil it, what i'm suggesting is more realistic animal attacks far less often, this would be more like real life..........or, a game far more like Blood Dragon..

remove the Eagles, Honey Badgers and the Rhinos, stop the Yaks from attacking, all the rest reduce by 90% but make their attacks far more deadly.

strange ending, cold and clinical

Shot dead at the dinner table, i refused the offer to eat with him because it's pretty obvious that my food would have been poisoned

game feels lonely and dead now, not a nice feeling

Although the mouse movement is now much better there seem to be a few problems with this patch. For me stuttering is now much worse in some places (but better when driving), and most annoying of all it's no longer possible to run soft shadows without PCSS being activated which complete bugs the shadows in the snowy sections.

Black bars in 16:10 still require the workaround too :(

If uplay forces a patch on us, it should at least be better than the previous version. I'm tempted to roll back to 1.4.0 and play offline.

I just drive around everywhere which is probably why I don't encounter as much animal attacks. I imagine if I was out in the wild with dangerous animals around I would tend to drive everywhere too so i'm taking the realistic approach haha.

the patch hasn't improved this, wolves are everywhere whilst walking....it feels the same after the patch but maybe less jerky....but a new patch isn't what's wrong with this game, it's the least of its faults.

the problem with this game is once you've finished it's all over, because resetting the enemy camps just feels hollow and empty, i guess all games are like this but FC4 is simply too much work and too boring to replay it all, because you'll have to liberate all those Radio masts yet again........how dreadful.

FC is a brilliant shooter, the guns are perfect, but it needs to be more linear, no radio masts, not so many of the same enemy camps... a proper large town...a proper harbour.....a huge palace etc etc.

FC3 had the same criticisms too, but they copied it all again in FC4...this is just damned lazy and a lack of imagination

How they made BLOOD DRAGON so popular is easy to see, realising this, means that to then make another FC3 is just plain DUMB  because the obvious thing to do is to make a far better version of BLOOD DRAGON, but UBISOFT didn't have the bottle to take this risk, they aimed low and safe.... too safe.

lets hope KILLING FLOOR 2 is great fun.... because it deffo looks it.

you dont download it, it's waiting for you right there in Uplay..........my FC4 only starts via the Uplay menu, all their games do now.....that patch takes 25 minutes to load up

i can turn the settings right up on BLOOD DRAGON, it should look really good, because i couldn't with the old card

But I usually see an option to download a new patch as I did for 1.4 you can refuse it & play offline. I'm not even getting the option for this patch

I was on the 1.4 patch and then started FC to see that it first download a 1 or 2mb patch (?) and then it started the uplay client again (I assume a uplay update..?) and only then did it tell me that a patch was available for FC4.

So I have now updated to the 1.5 patch at around 1362mb in total.

Some are reporting it works wonders & others say it's made the game worse:confused: is there a way to revert if it goes wrong apart from system restore?
I still can't get this patch to even start, how do you get it off steam as I'll try that?

How could you get it from Steam when it runs through the Uplay client.....?

Doubt that you could revert once patched.

You can add FC4 to steam where it gives details of the patch: also Quote on Uplay:-

The Far Cry 4 production team has been working very hard looking towards launch and will continue to do so in post-launch updates and ongoing support for the game and its community. For the optimal Far Cry 4 experience, we highly recommend you download our patch through Uplay or Steam.
