Far Cry 4 due this November

whilst this patch seems to have helped a lot , many still have problems it seems.

yea but FC4 also has these glitches inside buildings  so this tends to point towards poor coding.

whatever is wrong once corrected, it still wont be as good as the 3rd game, because this game is badly flawed as a shooter.

i have to say that my biggest surprise of all, is the guys in their office not noticing how bad it plays compared to FC3 or Blood Dragon.

FC3 crashed at start up......... crashed 5 minutes later............ crashed 1/2 hour later, so i lost my rag and deleted FC4, so far FC3 is ok again, but if this carries on tomorrow i'll have to roll back the pc to before i downloaded FC4.

Mine finished downloading last night and I gave it a go. Will I have the latest patch?
I was running on Geforce Experience's settings for 970 dialled down a notch and turned on Adaptive Vsync in Nvidia control panel.
Seemed to mostly be holding the frame rate with the occasional dip that induced some tearing but didn't have a counter active so not entirely sure what was going on.
Motion doesn't seem quite right to me but I may just need to get used to the new monitor.
Seems quite immersive

Another game where you can't set the sound output so no virtual surround :(.

I think this game has the worst saving system I have ever used. Pretty much the only place you can save safely is inside one of the safe houses. Anywhere else and the next time you load you will be in a different place, and stuff you had done will have been undone.

Other bad stuff:

  1. Few times I have fallen into gaps in the world. Once got stuck in a basement.
  2. Few too many animal attacks, especially eagles.
  3. Way too many vehicles just lying about all over the place.
  4. Some lag/stutter when driving fast.
  5. Some shadow flickering and strange behavior.
  6. Unskippable cut scenes.
  7. Can't fail missions, just constant reloads.
  8. Game takes ages to start, loads of intro logos and the game switches windowed to full screen a few times.

Even with all that though, it's a fun game :). Not even tried the co-op yet. Really enjoying it and with few more patches should be great.

You have to get into the habit of saving every time you add a new animal skin or whatever then if you die you will spawn at the nearest safehouse but you won't have lost your stuff, Farcry 3 was just the same.
Lots of games with quicksave are also the same, you save it or lose it. I would like to see a quicksave key implemented as it would be far less hastle, the only good thing is that when you save it more or less instant, some games have a tiresome 25 second save & then 25 second to load:mad:

Please do share how to do this. -skipintro has been disabled by the latest Uplay update.
Still works for me with latest patch

Make a shortcut on your desktop to Farcry exe, click properties & then add -skipintro on the end, should look like this:-

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\FarCry 4\bin\FarCry4.exe" -skipintro

If they issue a new patch then you have to make a new shortcut & add skipintro

Thanks Usher, but this is what no longer works for me, and not due to the 1.5.0 patch. There was a uplay client patch (4.9 IIRC) prior to the game patch, and now even with -skipintro set the shortcut takes me to the game's page on Uplay where I have to manually click play in order to launch the game. I've created a new shortcut, but it still makes no difference.

Prior to the uplay client update, it was working fine.

When i click the shortcut it brings up the game page on Uplay but I don't click it & several seconds later the game loads without the intro

Has anyone considered making a formal complaint to Ubisoft?

I am not able to play for more than 20mins at a time before I either run out of memory or the game simply closes with no prompts. It is pathetic. The stuttering and the other issues I can kind of cope with but the infernal crashing is a disgrace.

Apparently Mickey Mouse wears an Ubisoft watch.

Not sure a formal complaint will get very far, but I have found that after a few hours play in a single session results in the game alone using up to 7Gb RAM. I'm only getting away without crashes as I have 16Gb of memory.

Interesting, you have 16Gb . Hmmm Been thinking of 16Gb for a while as I sometimes run out when using PaintShop Pro and RAW files. That might be a solution albeit a tad desperate.
