Fastest you've been on a public road.

backed off in my 206 at 100 - could have gone a bit quicker but thought best not to

i sit at about 80 on dual carriageways and motorways now though, maybe 90 late at night if theres nothing about. Not bothered about doing 80-85 on my fave strech of B road though :D but im sure you lot have done a lot more than that on your favourite B road ;)

fastest as a passenger is 134 in a superb 1.8T - quite good fun :D but sitting in the outside lane of the A1(M) at 120 in a punto flashing BMW drivers out of the way was the most fun;)

LOL

after posting in this a couple of times i just got an email from

"Better Driving Please"

EDIT: just looking at that site, my god some people have no life.

About 110mph on the M-way, just to see how fast I could get my mum's 106. I don't usually do above 90 as it's not too clever and too easy to get slapped with a big fine/ban.

Slight twist to the OP, what speeds have you reached on normal residential(ish) 30mph roads.

I'm not going first... cos its big and not very clever

You're right, its not much to crow about at all. In fact its bloody stupid  If you've ever seen a child hit by a car doing 30+ you wouldn't ever dream of it.
Around our way there are cars parked on both sides and only room for one car down the middle, people (Bwoy Racers and mums alike) are constantly tearing down my street at what must be 40.

It's 30 for a reason.

Indicated 165 on the M1 at some ungodly hour a few years ago in my 928.

Actual 198.7 in a Veyron at Millbrook a couple of weekends ago, seriously gutted could not make the 200, will be trying again in about a months time.

Most roads like that shouldn't even be 30's.

My dads' road is very crowded, and with cars parked either side, there's only room for one car down the middle.

Yet some idiots proceed to do 30 or even faster down it. There's a semi-circle at the bottom of the road... yep you guessed it, people come flying down the road and do a nice little handbrake turn.

Idiots.

I find speed limits on the larger roads quite "unimportant" as it were, and will break the magic 70 with disregard for its existence and not feel guilty at all

Wow I think we need further details on this please :)

130 in my diesel astra and at least 120 in my rover mini on the limiter in 4th with two cars behind to verifiy.

Oh really?

Your mini revved to about 8,000 rpm?

Must have been one of those 'specials', eh? ;)

90mph indicated in my Peugeot 205 1.8 TD Beast
