Feek's Friday Beer, gin (and whatever you happen to be drinking on a Friday night) Thread

yes very interesting ;),been googling how to make myself ,but much more familiar with vodka and whiskey ,my dads taught me a lot about the appreciation of Irish whiskey and Scottish single malt ,one thing i worry about is ending up with ethanol instead of alcohol if i did home brew but im sure this is pretty basic knowledge

I don't know much about making whisky but I know home distilling can be a very good way of setting yourself and your house on fire, and it's also illegal I think, so I always stuck to making ales. :)

I’d be very disappointed if I were home brewing and DIDN’T end up with ethanol.

For the purposes of thread topic, tonight was a cremant de Loire. Pleasant.

Enjoyed a Camden Show Off Lager the other day. Was a new one on me. I’m getting suckered into craft beer again.

I may or may not have had another jog to the 24hr Garage for a couple of supplementary Becks.

Despite never having bought any beer from there until very recently, by volume I've bought more booze from there over the last few weeks than fuel.

Well, with craft beer places opening up for takeaways, has anyone bought themselves a growler yet? :D

Had one for a few years but i usually forget to take it with me. Our alehouse now has a canning machine which really helps as the plastic milk bottles tended to expand and in their words, "explode in the car when being delivered". Tastes better than the plastic bottles too.

Thornbridge have delivered :) I'm not going to wait for the weekend - with the balmy temperatures tomorrow night, I'm going to line up two of three of these as a sundowner. What's more, the latest batch from Verdant should be arriving tomorrow...

I have, for the BH weekend:
4x Duval (8.5%)
1x Leffe Blonde
1x H...H.. well it’s so bad it’s probably going to survive another year until the BBQ comes around again.

Got a steak for the weekend too.. and I may decide on cracking open a bottle of red instead of beer.. but only have the box with margaux, pomerol, st. emillion, ch. du pape, etc in it left..

Old Peculier for me. I'll try almost any beer I haven't tried before, but if I fancy having a beer rather than trying a new beer it'll be Old Peculier or M&S London Porter. But I haven't got any in because it would be too easy for me to overdo the drinking while on furlough and hardly going out. I don't want to be going over a bottle a week.

Strong flavour, but I'm not quite sure that it is the right favour. Not too much alcohol though, so a reasonable beginning.

Wild Beer seems to be a love it/hate it brewery. They’re quite unusual and make some really odd beers.

They do a Saison called Ninkasi which is delicious. Although personally I like Bibble. They also do one called Fresh I really like.

My wife got me their Sour Taster box for my birthday. Tonight I had a smoked gose with smoked orange peel.

Luckily the smoke was quite subtle as it’s not a flavour I’m a fan of across anything (meat/whisky etc) and the orange came through nicely. Plus at only 4% in a 750ml bottle it won’t leave me feeling ropey!

They definitely have their own personality. I'm just finishing off a glass of Pogo now, and wouldn't normally go for such a strongly flavoured ale but I'm enjoying it.

Thornbridge's Bliss Point will see me through the rest of the night. Unless things really get out of hand!
