So all of the drivers in FormulaE were drivers who weren't good enough in F1? :p

Well f1 is flooded with rubbish pay to drive, so no loss there.
And the pointy end of the grid, wouldn't go to a lower series.

When are tickets going to go on sale, really want to go to London. Be interesting if they make it affordable.
2015 is going to be the proper start though, with several teams already saying they'll have their own cars designed for the second series.

Yep 90min live program which will include highlights of the earlier practice and qualifying and then race build up, live race and post race.

It will also be on pay per TV, but itv4 haven't said who. But as itv4 is free, why would they do that as well? Unless its for non TV users and online streaming instead?

Still makes no sense as itv4 is free, so why the hell would you pay. and as far as I can tell. All countries with have their own deals, so I can't see it being anything to do with EU.

But as you say for us, who cares.

Virgin to announce their drivers by the end of next week, they have some teaser trailers up, if anyone wants to try and guess who they are.

What e-bike you got?

I want an ebike, but they're like 10k and well I don't want to pay more than 1k, but there's no old second hand ones about obviously.

Nice bike, didn't you post the build in another thread? Or was that someone else?

Virgin have announced their drivers,

Jaime Alguersuari
Spaniard Alguersuari became the youngest-ever driver to make a Formula One race appearance in 2009 when he competed for Toro Rosso. After success at junior level, he moved into British Formula 3, once again making records by becoming the youngest-ever driver to take the title during his debut year (2008), securing five wins along the way and earning him a Formula One test with Red Bull. In 2009 he signed for the Toro Rosso F1 Team producing two top-10 finishes in his first full season (2010) and remaining with the team the following year before switching to become the Pirelli tyre test driver for F1.

Sam Bird
Briton Bird is a proven race winner who narrowly missed out on the GP2 Series title last season after claiming an impressive five victories. Prior to this he has been shortlisted for the
McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, enjoyed successful campaigns in Formula Renault 3.5 and sampled Formula One machinery for both the Williams and Mercedes F1 teams. This year he's racing for Ferrari in the FIA World Endurance Championship

If anyone wants to attended ore season testing, registration is up.
http://www.donington-park.co.uk/event-form/

I want to, but I just don't know how good it will be. Are stalls going to be open, will you be able to meet the drivers. Plus I don't know what I'll be working for those dates yet.
Still If nothing else go take some pictures for a few hours, as it's free would seem like a waste not going.

Teams take delivery of their first car each, be so much better in season two when at least two of them teams will build their own cars.

Should the cars not be virtually silent? Perhaps the only way you can tell an e-car is coming your way, is the tyre noise.

Are there any videos of e-cars, doing a lap?

Not silent at all and yep, several videos in this thread somewhere and yep sounds like giant rc car.

I just hope the rules aren't to strict and we see batteries lasting longer and longer each season and times each season tumbling. This is what electric racing needs.

A new highest performance lithium battery is now on sale about 10% more than the current highest and by the end of this year they say they'll have a new one which will be 20% better.

Teams should be free to change battery suppliers and even better would be go to labs and take prototype batteries to at least small scale production. And increase motor BHP. First you want them running a full race with one car, then allow them to increase BHP.

Well they have a lot less downforce to make straight line faster as well as following distance. Combines with all electric, all the torque instantly.

And wheel covers massively increase efficiency.

Where can I buy them from?

Pass, as they only sale to OEMs atm.

Their called Amprius and are likely to be in some smartphones already, or will be very soon.

And Chandhok and Senna are now officially confirmed
http://post.jagran.com/karun-chandhok-bruno-senna-reunite-for-formula-e-championship-1401105074
SP Shukla, Chairman of Mahindra Racing, said: “Both Karun and Bruno come with very strong racing pedigrees and have successfully competed in a variety of racing series over the past few years. The entire team looks forward to working with both of them to optimise the performance of our racing car over the next few months of testing before the start of racing in September this year.”

Chandhok, 30, said: “I’m very excited to be a part of the Mahindra Racing line-up. The team are showing a lot of commitment to Formula E and it’s very encouraging to see the support of senior members of the group to this programme. To be a part of the only Indian team in this series is a real honour for me. It's also going to be a nice reunion for me with Bruno again. He's one of my closest friends from the racing world; we respect each other and work well together which will be good for the development of the team."

Senna, also 30, added: “There is a real ambition within the team to be leaders in Formula E from the start. It’s also an exciting prospect to be part of such a revolutionary championship from the beginning."
