Fidelity Super Resolution 2.0

Did not see your later post, my bad, helps to distinguish what Vram capping out looks like though.

Yeah the comment about VRAM usage was just what I saw. I have cards with 16GB and 24GB so 12GB usage was not a problem regardless.

Stop banging on about it lads! You know them boys take it thick. Wait till Ada releases and they move on to something else...and another hill to die on. :p

Axe to grind gif please @TNA

Deep Rock Galactic adds FSR2 support.

Tried out fsr 2 in rdr 2 earlier on, works very well in this, dlss still ahead in quite a few areas but definitely one of the better FSR 2 "official" implementations so far. Native taa also looks better now.

Nothing gets me more excited than the thought of micromanaging a herd of rowdy goats.

I must admit this release has come as a bit of a surprise. I was thinking FSR 3.0 would be the next big update. AMD is saying this is a small update and devs shouldn't have much trouble upgrading to this release so hopefully, over the coming weeks, a lot of steam patches start to drop.
To me, AMD getting rid of the ghosting is anything but small its the killer to the tech this is a massive update.

Yep, it will keep getting better and evolve. Any reduction in ghosting is always welcome as it's one of the worst traits about all the upscaling solutions, along with the blurring of textures that they all suffer with to varying degrees.

The performance increase looks nice too vs FSR 2 tbf.

Be good to see FSR 2.1 in god of war as that is probably the worst FSR 2 implementation so far and also if this manages to fix the issues in deathloop (which it should do looking at the patch notes), if so then defo a great and much needed update that will bring it on par with dlss. Next thing will be getting it into more games then that is one of nvidias main feature set advantages gone.

EDIT:

Speaking of which, cp 2077 at long last will be getting it:

On top of that, we are thrilled to announce that one of our most requested games to get FSR 2, Cyberpunk 2077, is joining the list of upcoming FSR 2 games.

FSR 2.1 actually looks virtually identical to DLSS now. The thick overhead cables are fixed now as well as any ghosting issues. Amazing work considering no hardware Tensor cores are needed.

Yup so far it's looks pretty much the same as dlss now. One less advantage of nvidia now.

Wonder why FSR 2.1 is also using considerably less vram? At least in rdr 2 anyway.

That's not true, he just chose scenes where you don't see the difference so easily. Said it on last page but I'll say it again, go take the train out of St Denis and pay attention to the trees over the water, you'll see ghosting like it's Ghostbusters. From here on: https://youtu.be/oJEAMr6XMhI?t=188 (note: this video is just to show location, not the ghosting, it has no FSR)

If you've seen this ghosting why not make a video and show it compared to DLSS? Pretty sure the guy who did the video didn't 'pick and choose' the scene since he does the same scene in every video.. As it stands FSR 2.1 is getting close to DLSS without Tensor cores and works on all gpu's. That's a win for AMD.

In the video I've linked there is no ghosting so not sure how a difference scene can have severe ghosting when the tress are essentially gonna be the same. Whilst I agree and fsr 2.1 is now at a level where I would no longer consider dlss to be an advantage/reason to go with nvidia (although will wait for some in depth analysis videos by DF first), I have to laugh at this comment, it only took 2-3 years for AMD to "win" :p That is why people generally go with nvidia as most gamers don't want to wait that kind of time, especially for a feature of that value, most people don't care about who comes last, only who comes first.
