Fidelity Super Resolution 2.0

Setup my new 6700 card yesterday and had a play with RDR2 // FSR

Not really sure of it's purpose. As in I turned it on, got about 5 extra FPS but the image quality seemed a tad poorer.

I have had a scan through the thread but yeh, not really seeing what it's for, what I should be doing with it?

Rdr 2 doesn't see a massive gain with upscaling tech. Try out something else like dying light 2, cp 2077 and you'll see fsr doubling your fps

No, I didn't, just FSR 2. But it's had an official implementation now. However, the FSR 2 mod still works and it basically enables you to use DLSS instead. Or at least you select DLSS in the menu, can't say for sure that you are truly using it as I cannot see any differences in IQ between them. Regardless, in Dying Light 2 DLSS is a few FPS faster (i tested this a few pages back) so I'd use that until/if Techland implement FSR2.1.

Yeah I was using FSR2 but I wanted to try FSR2.1. So I got the FSR2.1 compiled files from the Control game FSR2.1 mod and added them to Dying Light 2. So now I can enable the FSR 2.1 mod using the DLSS setting and also use FSR 2.0 native (not at the same time obviously).

Interesting, can you share those please mate?

Been playing RDR 2 with FSR 2 for bit and noticed a couple of severe issues with it during gameplay. Was playing in HDR so unless you're also watching in HDR, you won't see the full extent of the white aliasing/haloing on the grass/ground outside, reducing sharpening seems to reduce this somewhat and obviously the other issue is the trailing/ghosting on all the wood splinters flying about.

Any idea when/if RDR 2 is getting official FSR 2.1 update?

EDIT:

4k still processing

The king of value was the 6800. Its a pity they made so few of them and the hubbub of demand made prices nearly double to what that sku should have been. They may not make a 7700 none xt but I hope they do again, it goes fighting between the x070 and x080 cards so its almost a mid tier of the yesteryear brackets before it got ruined.

Every time I look for a 6800, 90% of avenues end up at a 6800XT.

I'll have to keep an eye on pricing around January time, but I'm hoping the 6800XT or so will be within my price range. I've seen people talking highly of FSR2.0, and that most games moving forward are implementing both DLSS and FSR at the same time now.

Yeah I'd go for the 6800XT if you budget can stretch to it. Might be able to pick up a B Grade off OcuK for a bit less than retail price.
In before rhetoric.
