Platini/UEFA are just as bad as FIFA and Blatter, they are all 'snakes' and are only out to line their own pockets.
Yup I have absolutely no idea why they think Uefa are better, FFP via Uefa for the CL has been nothing short of Uefa trying to extort money out of the richest owners, nothing more, nothing less. It in no way at all helped to level the playing field, it has in fact caused the richest clubs to push more money into buying up all the youth and selling them off after developing a bit for profits. It's pushed the prices up of the likes of Brunye and anyone else CHelsea has sold in an attempt to beat FFP. They bought kids like Brunye not really to play him but as a tool to beat FFP in the future.
Now we're past this 2-3 year period of FFP where clubs like Chelsea are running out of people to sell they bought before FFP kicked in.... FFP rules are looking to be relaxed.
FFP was always about PROTECTING the existing rich teams who clearly have more influence on Uefa/Fifa/FA than other teams.
Uefa is completely corrupt and Platini says as many controversial and stupid things as Blatter.
if Sepptic gets re-elected then UEFA should boycott FiFA. UEFA can survive without FiFA not sure the same can be said about FiFA
Uefa is as completely corrupt as Fifa, thinking otherwise is silly.
It looks like everyone is now falling in line behind the FIFA gravy train.
I don't think is sunk in that we now have to go at least the next 11 years before we have any hope of a world cup that isn't tainted by bugs, controversy, and serious corruption.
It's a farce.
Again, as with all business, there will be corruption where money is involved. Fifa are operating in a capitalist world which rewards big business and doesn't give a crap about anything else. If Fifa were replaced, whatever replaced it would be corrupt, all the smaller federations are corrupt, Uefa is corrupt.
Get rid of Fifa, let Uefa or a new organisation run it, how do you get members into this new panel, elections? Elections worldwide, for all history, are corrupt. When you need votes you are willing to barter to get them which means the highest bidder will effectively get to buy those votes.
I mean, a vote coming up for re-election, the FBI investigation happens now, not a year ago or 5 years ago, a coincidence, not even the slightest chance.
So with an election coming up an investigation into corruption happens and all of a sudden Platini is calling for his resignation while pushing forward 'his' candidate for Fifa presidency. The whole thing screams corruption effectively. Chances of the other guy being completely good and Platini wanting a non corrupt Fifa are say 0.1%. Chances that Platini wants 'his' corrupt guy heading Fifa to further Platini's agenda, 99.9%.
This is incredibly common and a political tool, corruption charges being brought around incredibly late in the day right before an election. The history of such actions are almost always about effecting an election than having merit as a case. Think of it this way, if Blatter was guilty and they had evidence they could have made this investigation 2 years ago and he'd be in jail. If you have no real evidence at all, what you can do is bring an investigation, put all that bad press on the guy and 3 months later you may find out that he was innocent and no one else is actually prosecuted due to lack of evidence... but by that point the election is over and the guy tainted by the allegations loses. The damage is done, it's far too late.
I forget who/where, but a judge in America not long ago had a case of domestic abuse brought against him just before a re-election campaign. The opposition candidate called him every name under the sun throughout the campaign. He had video proof from day one that his girlfriend abused him but the case was dragged out on purpose meaning the video couldn't be released and he couldn't talk about the case. He lost the election due to a smear campaign when he was 100% innocent. This crap happens all the time, it's another sign of corruption, nothing remotely good.
The timing of this, the calls for resignation, the backing of Platini's guy for the position, the miraculous coincidence that the other guy was offered votes days after this scandal to make himself look like Mr clean in the media... it's all hilariously contrived.
Using an investigation in that way is basically a dirty and corrupt political tool to change the outcome of an election. It all screams very loudly of a nasty tactic to get your own corrupt guy into the position.
