FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

England going out is the best thing that can happen. England players get more applause for a safe pass back to goalie or a long ball sideways than for a clever piece of passing or technical ability.

Something has to change fundamentally in the system when a country with a smaller population than London can embarrass us in terms of keeping, crossing, and passing the ball. England being eliminated will hopefully make the powers that be realise this.

England over achieve at International football, Uruguay do hugely too.

You're right, English football needs to change and people's attitudes do too. Jonathan Wilson preached adopting the German model years ago, I agreed then and I still do.

The statistic about coaches in this country compared to Italy, Spain, Germany et cetra, is staggering.

<3 Suarez

Not really sure why Gerrard is getting so much stick, he misjudged a header that went to an unmarked player. It's hardly 'bottling' it or passing it to Suarez on purpose :o

We were a mess in defence and a mess in attack but you can't blame any one player because everyone sucked tonight.

As for Hodgson, the FA publically stated he would be in charge of England until 2016 back in May so we're stuck with him.

Suarez was fortunate, Roy? Maybe our cb's thought the same which is why Suarez scored the 2nd.

Suarez is always on the move looking for any opportunity and knew exactly what he was doing for the 2nd goal.

England's best player is Cahill, Sturridge or Gerrard out of that line up.

Me personally, i would say Sterling.

Rooney is dog ****, always been over-hyped. Mind you i am someone who says Van Persie is **** when deep down i know i am talking porkies :p (though i am not with rooney, he really is just ****)

As I said before, we need a new team! Far too many times it's based on the manager and yet other teams run around England like they are kids playing football on a sunday afternoon

Are you guys seriously comparing Fred who has never been world class or on 1/3rd of the wage Rooney is on in his life to him?

Rooney is so inconsistent, english and man u fans only remember the good games

That was really disappointing. Most other teams play with a great deal of purpose, whereas we were satisfied to play passy passy nicey nicey across the back four.

Thought Sterling, Wellbeck and Barkley were poor, but Gerrard was absolutely awful. I hate to say this, but the buck stops with Roy; they're his team and they play to his system. We're going to be awfully fortunate to get out of this group, and we certainly wouldn't deserve it if you make the second round.
