FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

We can still go through.

While you're at it, tell Father Christmas I want a bike, the tooth fairy she owes me 20p and the Easter Bunny to stop substituting bloody Toblerones for my Creme Eggs!

Christ on a bike.

When you think it couldn't get any worse... You get Adrian chiles asking trite questions to idiots.

You can't single people out really, everyone was poor bar Cahill.

Rooney was better than the Italy game, but barely. Sturridge kept dropping deep and barely posed much of a threat, which is rare for him.

Sterling played like a player his age can sometimes play, a few decent moves but not great overall. Gerrard was very poor and Henderson was just... meh.

Johnson was repeatedly wasteful except for when he set up the goal, which is fair play.

Baines was far below his best.

They're all decent enough players, but pretty much collapsed as a team. Tactically, mentally, completely wrong.

Disappointed but not surprised.

Who is the right man?

England's problem is much deeper than the wrong manager or not playing that flavour of the month youngster that everyone thinks would set the stage alight.

Main problem as I see it from the 2 games so far is the manager is lacking flexibility and is too stupid to know when hes effectively just bashing his head against a wall, his tactics and logic within a strategy are sound but he seems too stubbon or too stupid to switch it up when it needs to be. I think its the one thing that has held us back more than any other factor.

Yeh right don't the fans ever learn, we need a new manager and a new team, same old **** year in year out. People in this country seriously need a reality slap

Best way to treat England matches is with contempt. I check the score after it's finished and if they've won(and let's face it they often snatch defeat from the jaws of victory) I might watch the whole thing otherwise I've just saved myself from 90 minutes of the standard England cr*ptacular performance.

Rooney played well, I hate Rooney but he had a good game. Good movement, made chances and have a **** unlike moSt.

Criticising him after tonight is bandwagoning.

No it isn't, Rooney may have had chances but the majority came from set pieces, he had one tap in that was basically created by a frustrated Sturridge having to drop deep and wide to get a touch of the ball and singlehandedly run past 2-3 players. Rooney's chances came at the cost of everything breaking down in the opposition half and us creating hardly anything in open play, Sturridge was the player we wanted on the end of the ball in the box, not Rooney.

Whenever Rooney has played in his favoured position in a tournament against decent teams our midfield has been dysfunctional, same thing in South Africa 2010.
