So Italy losses, but still if Pluto realigns with Neptune which in turn would pull Saturn into the direct orbit of Jupiter resulting in the moon and stars coming out of Uranus.. We STILL GOT A CHANCE TO WIN THE WORLD CUP GUYS!! SPIRIT OF 66!

Puts Englands performance the other night in perspective, no wonder we didn't look so bad Italy are garbage! And we still lost!!!

Nah, we might not qualify again. Like Euro 2008
Only needs a couple half-decent teams in our qualifying group. And given that we're drawn into the crap pots (unseeded) now, that's more likely.
Just goes to show though, England should be nowhere near the top 10 in terms of rankings. Costa Rica are 28th, and are considerably better than we are.
Draw for the Euros was made back in February.

Baring in mind like half of the teams get into the tournament now I wouldn't worry about us qualifying out of that group. It's what we do when we get there that is the problem!Draw for the Euros was made back in February.

It is just the usual overreacting from England fans. We lost two close-fought games. We weren't awful. I honestly think we are a better team than both Italy and Uruguay, we just got beaten in games that could have gone either way. It happens. We didn't deserve anything from those games, but could have got something out of both of them.

Well if England are mathematically out, if nothing changes in the Costa Rica / Italy scoreline, I hope Hodgson gives everyone in the squad who have had little/no time so far in Brazil at least 45mins of pitch time in the third match (where possible).
Top two go in I believe and third gets to play-off against another third placed team. I'd rather avoid that, there are some potential banana skins around, including maybe another British team.

Slovenia aren't too bad, going by previous tournaments. Switzerland are OK.

I'd be horrified if we didn't get at least third. I mean we can play badly but worse than Estonia, Lithuania, San Marino?
