But they didn't go our way. We didn't look like winning either of them. There were a few good passages of play against Italy, and more or less none against Uruguay; a team who aren't exactly good defensively.

We're just not good, the team ethic isn't there, the players bottle it, tactics are suspect, etc.

We should do better.

What years games are you watching?

We did ok (even good) in the first 20-25 minutes against Italy then did very average (with lots of fluffing of basic football which IMO = awful), the first 70 minutes of the Uruguay match were just pants on head levels of retardation though they did finish up the last 20-25 minutes with okish play but nothing special.

Contrast players whose career highlight will be this world cup with players whose career peak will be the enormous £/week as they sign their final contract with a club
