FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

Of course, but I don't sit and laugh at Rooney (as people were doing Gerrard) each week or when he cocks up and then support him when he plays for England and turn on him when he does **** for them :D

Also people outraged and shocked by Suarez's comments when he gets called everything under the sun each week, booing during his national anthem at the olympics or being mocked for showing emotion. (Never mind his belief of being stitched up as a racist)

LoL :D

People were laughing at Gerrard because of his team huddle for the cameras and how he clearly stated not to let this slip :D

People don't like Suarez because he's not a very likeable bloke. Not because of his comments. Removing the racism aspect, he's still a cheat and nasty piece of work.

When you're at the top and fighting for the title people like to have a pop at you, we've had to put up with it for 20 years.

People would be laughing and mocking regardless, call him all sorts of ****e and then cheer him on when doing well for England and turn on him if doing bad, regardless of the 'this does not slip'.

I know why people don't like Suarez, I don't see why they act surprised or annoyed that he is happy to give it back with all the abuse he gets that I have listed above and he did it in the most perfect way possible, particularly leaving those believing the Gerrard header is why england are out/conceded that goal :D

Nothing to do with that either, people will say all sorts of nasty ****e about anyone and then proceed to think they're entitled to that player being amazing for their national team as if they've always supported them.

what has really surprised me about England's exit is how little a lot of folks seem to care, it's as if they gave up on them a while ago

I think it was plain (even to someone like myself who doesn't really follow football these days) early on that nothing had changed.

Was going to give the rest of the world cup a miss as usual but been some really good games this time - Iran were impressive and were doing everything England should have been doing and weren't - they covered their weaknesses, stayed disciplined, never gave up or gave less than their best, adapted on the fly to overcome the other team adjusting to try and nullify their tactics, etc. compare and contrast to the England games and its plain just how much was down to lack of management imagination - to stuck trying to ram through a 1 dimensional strategy even when it was plainly not working - never mind the quality or lack of from the players on the pitch.

Not watching the rest of it once England are out is criminal lol. It's far more enjoyable watching teams you don't give a damn about than stressing over England for 90 mins.

Really not that into football any more, don't really watch anything other than England and my local town games, last decade of English football killed any enthusiasm for it.

The friendly games before the tournament started, were for me, warning signs of what was to come in the WC. We improved a bit in our opening match vs Italy, but fell back to our usual performance after. You could also argue, we looked improved in the match vs Italy because Italy themselves were below par.

Ah well, at least we get to see one of Italy or Uruguay going out at this stage as well. Ballotelli with his ridiculous Queen remarks, or that dirtbag Suarez. It makes me happy that one of them will be going home.

I'm hoping Italy go through, and fair play to the 'Whipping boys' Costa Rica.

We just don't seem to play with any real conviction. It's been that way, on and off, for a number of years now. I want to see players with a bit of passion, players who care! I'm sure they do care - they just don't show it.

I think that's a lot of it, no passion and 1 dimensional tactics, a lot of people seem to have given up on them
