FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

Didn't realise we were going to be playing on a Sunday league pitch ... that's a disgrace.

Not that it'll be overly detrimental to us, I fully expect to see passing it across the back 4 followed by a 40 yard punt up to nobody for most of the game.

Got a draw written all over it.

Some of the stuff I am reading about this WC is quite worrying. Especially that they haven't tested the stadium at anywhere near capacity yet!...how can they guarantee that things like transport and emergency services etc will be up to it?!

You only saw half the pictures

According to reports, wires are still very visible and exposed to people, no security doors attached, the track (or whatever there is) still needs another layer, paint on the inside is still not done, and it just looks very 'raw.' Nothing to control the masses of people has been implemented yet.

Just whacked money on England to come bottom of the group. I can't see us beating either Italy or Uruguay. if we're lucky we might win against Costa Rica.

Is Wellbeck injured for the Italy game?

He's recovering well from a thigh injury and still in doubt.

EDIT: Reports coming in saying that he's declared himself fit.

back from holiday. went to lisbon and visited Benfica's stadium. wow just wow what a stadium. vey similar to emirates due to the same company who built it.

Their museum was amazing too. so much much history

edit: i will post pictures later. right now i have not slept since wednesday due to the whole city turning into one big fat festival lasting all day all night..

i even watched the brazil macth with a load of brazilian fans in lisbon...

I now like Benfica. very good club and history.

I aslo bought a jersey and wore it to the festival. everyone was hugging me and kissing the badge.

Basically Benfica fans are A LOT MORE PASSIONATE and hardcore than us arsenal fans located in london.

Nope do as Hoddle and Shearer said, bring them on after 60-70 minutes as impact subs. Thats my thoughts , as long as England go out attacking and give it a go then I'll be happy.

World Cup came alive last night. Can't see anything but depression tonight, especially with Welbeck fit.

The England team visited an orphanage in Brazil today.

"it's heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope," said Jose, age 6.

I don't get this line of thought. What makes Welbeck the better player to start the game and Sterling the better impact sub? Sterling's had a far better season and they'll both scare the Italian defence with their pace.

ur one cheeky mate, I'll sock you one right in the gabber I swear on me mum's grave!

Ugh, please don't start Welbeck :( Guy is useless and can't see the rationale behind starting him?
Our attack has to be lively, aggressive and have some pace to it if we are going to beat the Italians! Welbeck offers none of that.
(hopefully he scores tonight :p)
