Griezman showing the difference, dropped into the space, got the pass, ball went to Benzema and he immediately ran towards the goal, picked up the pass and played the throughball into the middle and almost a goal.

For the entire rest of the game every ball went out wide for a meh cross to Giroud who did nothing with any of the crosses. No quick passing from back to front, nothing.

They lacked anything to link midfield to attack, they lacked any pace in their attacks and they lacked a neat ball through the defence. Stupid thing is Griezman offered that in every game, he's been great. No idea how there could even be a serious discussion with Giroud starting ahead of him.
 
Whole team goes to sleep when the guy upfront looks unwilling to run onto anything you do, and without the quality to make use of any running you do so everyone stops running forward.

With every run Griezman makes another team mate is waking up and actually trying to run forwards or pass faster. Pogba making the run that led to that sustained pressure and Griezman in the space and whipping in a dangerous ball.

Night and day the team with/without Giroud.
