lol Griezman has been brilliant since coming on, completely changed the team around, Giroud who?

You can't play one immobile donkey as part of a highly mobile quick attacking three, it will utterly collapse the attack, it just won't click, won't work and will be crap.

Same happened for England, Rooney just playing differently, on a different wavelength to Sturridge/Sterling and it didn't work. Not always about quality, (though often is) but you need the right player to make everyone click.

Griezman has linked together the entire attack.
 
What on earth is the reason those two CB's remotely need to be that far forwards, asking for trouble.

EDIT:- Twice within a few minutes Germany getting into Barca/Bayern style trouble. If Germany don't have enough quality in Ozil/Gotze, Muller, Bastian, Kroos, Lahm and to break down Algeria, two CB's aren't going to make a difference. Up against pace they are pushing further forwards in defence.... stupid.

Barca and Bayern got torn a new one in successive seasons playing the Guardiola tactic, it's not something to emulate.

Boateng = Pique, completely over rated and I have no idea at all how he's playing for a top team. As with Pique got away with it when he had epic people behind/around him, but when it's weaker fullbacks and someone who while good doesn't have the pace to cover he looks crap.

Lahm in midfield works, but he's better in fullback than their other fullbacks by such a large margin it's where he should be starting.

lol, what has happened, almost everyone that looked great in the groups is playing like utter turd in this round, except maybe Costa Rica. All making very hard work of their games.

Germany look awful defensively. Lahm at right back, Khedira in central mid probably, or maybe Kroos and put a Schurrle on, lack of genuine proper wingers hurt them in the last game as well.
 
Muller found a great pass there from very wide, and instead of taking responsibility with space to run into, he whacked it straight back to Muller and made it very hard for him to do anything with it, he hasn't got loads of pace. Too many playmakers, too few people willing to run with the ball and be a bit more direct.

EDIT:_ Ozil so lazy with that cross, again Muller carrying the ball a little then picking the right pass though.

EDIT2:- a poor pass their to Muller so he lost it, and he chases back faster than any other midfielder to help against a counter. German midfield asleep, lazy, not working hard, not closing, and not remotely tracking runs when Algeria break, they just watch what happens.


EDIT3:- no change in tactics, high line, one ball and the entire defence is in a panic again. Only Mert running back after that anyway, no one else close to it. Why are they pushing so high, no need, fullbacks offering nothing in offence anyway so stop going forward. Ozil with another very lazy ball in which gave it away and one pass and they all lose their heads.

It is, and isn't, playing the high line with Boateng and both fullbacks barely paying attention to the game is certainly asking for trouble.

Seriously what is this crap, Boateng almost walking to the half way line with the ball, then passing 5 yards.... getting themselves in trouble with stupid short passes and not looking to break on them at all. They are so poor I'd make changes already, Khedira for the right back and swap him with Lahm, would be tempted to already take off Gotze or Ozil for Schurrle for some real pace and intention to run at their man down the wing, get Muller some support on the break.
