FIFA World Cup 2018 - GROUP E [Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia - 17/22/27 June] **spoilers**

Frankly, for the way that Acosta went down as if he had been punched full on by Mike Tyson, he should get a ban from ever calling himself a sportsman in his life.

Brazil deserved to win, but why was Neymar not booked for his almost-a-penalty dive? Costa Rica were actually worse for it than Brazil though. Amazing.

Brazil have looked dump so far as well this tournament, thought their odds to win it may have lengthened but because most of the other top teams haven’t looked convincing they’ve barely moved.

Totally sick of the time wasting/feigning injury in this World Cup, it's about time there was a seperate timekeeper that stops the clock everytime the ball goes out of play, glad Brazil won because the blatant cheating by Costa Rica (I'm looking at you Acosta) nearly got them a draw.

Didn't see this match, but, it seems like form the comments here that it was pretty bad.

Brazil lucky to win, Costa Rica playing for a draw.

Sounds like a lot of games so far.

There's a lot of things I am totally sick of, strangely its the small "cheats" that I'm sick of. The time wasting, the faking injury, the shuffling 10m along the touchline when you have a throw in, the getting a free kick and doing the little backspin throw with the ball to move it forward 3m, then stepping forward and rolling it another 3m forward with your foot before taking the free kick. Just minor petty little things which annoy me so much more than an actual blatant act of cheating.

I think the tournament is better for Brazil being in it so I hope they go through. While I don't like the cheating they're still entertaining to watch when they actually try and play.

Exactly. I'd rather have teams left in the tournament that actually try to play football. I don't like sides like Iran, Tunisia and Costa Rica who are more concerned with stopping the other team scoring than getting anything themselves, it's boring to watch. Hopefully those sort of sides will get knocked out and we'll be left with the more exciting teams to watch.

I don't mind teams playing defensively so long as they actually commit to the counter-attack when they get the opportunity.

The old adage of "a gentleman's game played by thugs" seems as true as ever. I can't think of another sport where players routinely cheat in the manner of football.
