FIFA World Cup 2022 Group B ** spoilers ** (England, Iran, USA, Wales)

Never going to happen but imagine if one of the players came out during this World Cup, would the Qatari's have him arrested, what would FIFA do then, probably suspend them from all footballing activities?
 
I'd already decided not to watch this World Cup, which is tough because I love sport and footy in particular. This latest play from FIFA vindicates the decision. The ball is now firmly in the FA's side of the pitch as it will have to decide how it can find an alternative way of showing support. How we got to this point where a major global event was being held in a state like Qatar is a farce and illustrates everything that is wrong with elite football. I wonder if any of the players have the bottle to stand up for what they say they believe in?
 
FIFA will now make all captains in the quarter-finals wear an armband:

"Following discussions, FIFA can confirm its No Discrimination campaign has been brought forward from the planned quarter-finals stage in order that all 32 captains will have the opportunity to wear this armband during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022," the governing body said. "This is in line with Article 13.8.1 of the FIFA Equipment Regulations, which state: "For FIFA Final Competitions, the captain of each team must wear the captain's armband provided by FIFA."

Note the use of words, "the opportunity" which means "must wear".

As I said before this just stinks even more of hypocrisy on FIFA's behalf.

Harry Kane should wear #Onelove and stick two fingers up to them otherwise we just look like another bunch of spineless fools.
