Final Fantasy VII REBIRTH (Remake Part 2)

I don't want to spoil anything, have they said how they're handling the character transfer from the first game? Are you starting at Level 1 again or just transferring across?

Are you playing in the 60 FPS performance mode?
Yeah, no noticeable issues so far but I will say I might have my fanboy goggles on.

Genuinely looks great to me but I'm far more interested in the gameplay and story than the graphical fidelity.

I think there's a bonus for having a VII Remake save, but essentially for balancing reasons you're "starting from scratch", it's as if it's a new game.

I can't imagine there'd be a better way of doing it, otherwise if you went in at level 50 and other people started fresh, presumably you'd be destroying everything in sight.

Yeah I wondered if they'd just reset it but it's a bit of shame that nothing between the games is really going to carry over

If you have a Remake save it'll transfer the summons. You start rebirth at level 40 with a level cap of 75 iirc.

You only get Leviathan if you played the main game, and Ramuh if you played the Yuffie DLC. Nothing else. Max level is 70.

Finished the demo, every bit as fantastic as I'd hoped - even more hyped for the main game now, which I didn't think was possible.

Will be playing it through again this evening :)

Have the Deluxe edition on pre-order but no doubt Amazon will be delivering very late on release day for me, I'm considering going for the digital copy and not bothering with the Deluxe. I'd never be interested in selling the game, so makes sense. What's everyone else doing? Digital or physical?

I watched the SoP as I couldn’t help myself and wow it looks incredible.

I was very very annoyed when I initially heard it was split into three parts but now I’m ecstatic at what we’re getting, just a shame I’ll probably be pushing 50 (43 this year) by the time part 3 releases

There's a few lines from the original that have been dropped which bothered me.

"That would be our monster", Sephiroth and Cloud getting off of the truck to fight the dragon (and they changed the dragon to two weaker enemies, too! Boo!)
Tifa's line about "taking real good care of her then" was slightly changed in Rebirth, only slightly, but it didn't quite hit the same in this one.
"Out of my way, I'm going to see my mother", another Sephiroth line when he leaves the Shinra Mansion basement. That out of my way and then Those Chosen by the Planet comes in, goose bumps.

All very small changes and overall I'm good with how they've elaborated and changed most of it, but those few lines were always pretty cool to me and they should've been left in tact, but again very minor detail.

My exact thoughts too, was a bit gutted initially, but then Remake came out and I loved it. The ending made me question what the hell they were thinking with going off course story wise, but now I'm glad they've made potential changes to how it'll all play out as we're all going in blind.

They announced the Remake when I was in my mid 20's and I'll likely be 40 by the time it's all out.

And on the backdrop of all of it, we still have the original :)

Can't wait to try the demo this weekend. Loved the original FF7 on PS1, but I also really enjoyed FF7 Remake.

I had no intention of buying FF16 until I played the demo (which was superb), so I have high hopes for the FF7 Rebirth demo too.

Just finished the demo last night
Is that how the nibelheim part is meant to end in this game? As it misses the end out lol

And again there's just filler, making the journey take longer, bloody busy work with the mako

For me the FF7 remake is disappointing, but in and of itself it'll be a good "trilogy"

In the original you see "Cloud" follow Sephiroth back up the reactor and prepare to fight Sephiroth, the rest - up until this point - is left up the imagination. It's unveiled what really happened much later in the game.

I thought this too and it is BS in a lot of ways, but also it's there to make you reflect on this evil corporation - like they're killing the planet and they're also building machines to fix the mess their making (think oil spills in the real world).

Same with the leg scene, it's supposed to slow you down to think "Damn, this Sephiroth guy has gone mad", rather than running in and getting the scene out of the way.

A lot of the story is about reflection of what's happening.

Some screenshots I took when playing the demo...
