Phase 2 is finished now and phase 3 isn't till June so you've got plenty of time to get a key. If you were an account owner in 1.0 you will get access from next phase automatically. I think NDA is lifted in phase 3 as well according to the leaked roadmap so hopefully we can talk about it properly come early June.

FYI the reddit page is pretty good for all sorts of info. /r/ffxiv

The beta of ffxiv put me of to much :|
It's a shame because I loved ffxi

I'm really interested since they redid the game though.

Can you answer in vague terms without giving me any details about just how improved the game is now?

for example give ratings out of 10 for the combat questing , inteface , crafting , game performance etc is compared to how it was?
like "combat ffxiv 5/10, combat a realm reborn 8/10"

Hard to say as beta is only to 35 atm things will massively improve from Phase 3. I also played 1.0 and in comparison I can say it is a gigantic improvement. I will certainly be subbing once live.

27th August is the release date, officially announced today.

Still no news on Beta phase 3 (also NDA lift).

Possibly another "letter from the producer" next Thursday so perhaps more new then.

Beta phase 3 confirmed for 14th June. PS3 testing also begins in this phase.

Not a full NDA lift though according to the updated roadmap so will have to see what we can talk about.

I played on the original release and enjoyed it despite its flaws. I'm really looking forward to the new release and wish I'd gotten into the beta phases! D:

If you had a 1.0 account you should get auto access to Beta Phase 3 starting on 27th August I believe.

i bought it at release, and have had beta access since Beta 1, however i havent bothered with it at all, too busy playing Rift and EQ1 lol, i will probably check it out at some point though to see how much they fixed the game, originally i lasted about 6 hours before uninstalling it, it was that bad.

Fingers crossed they made it a bit more easy to get into this time around, as the graphics are gorgeous and i liked some of the classes or jobs or whatever they called them.
