Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn

I'm hoping keyboard+ mouse support is good....
I don't see many mmos owning pads tbh which was there biggest mistake last time same crap with ffxi as well although it was manageable it was a pain in the butt compared to other mmos
 
Servers are up, logged in, created a char then had to get back to work, it looks lovely, scenery and starting area are nice, and thankfully runs OK on my crappy laptop. Going to get a good play later tonight.

Burrows, I registered my interest months ago for a beta invite, I never received any alpha or beta1 invites, but randomly received one yesterday.

All going well over this weekend, ill decide if I want to pre-order. I'm hoping its fun, as I focused too much on WoW instead of FFXI. I don't have time for a pure grind fest, I just want a game that you can play for a few hours a week and get something out of it. Here's hoping!

It's about 80% WoW, 10% FFXI and 10% original/other MMOs, with a distinct universal Final Fantasy feel.

You get a main quest string that will take you from level 1 to 50 with one class. When leveling a second class, you'll have a "class quest line" which helps with experience and gaining abilities for that class, but you won't get the general quest string that will take you to 50. Instead you'll have to combine Guildleves, partying, FATEs, dungeon runs and complete Monster Books (I forget the correct name) to gain experience.
 
without going into any details the initial experience of how you are introduced to the game is a thousand times better , the game runs awesome for me on max settings with a 7850 i've got it limited to 60fps in the options and so far its sat above 58fps the whole time.

the UI is also really nice and clean and a lot more intuitive

Worst account system ever, constantly asks to login in every time you want to do anything on the website, stupid captcha. Then when I go to login my email won't fit into the game login UI, so I guess I use my username but details are wrong. Fffff. "please try again in a few minutes" 2? 5? 10? D:

Man this had me tortured last night, I was almost going to give up, asks for email/Nickname to start then nickname, then email.

I sent myself 3 password resets before I realised I didn't need to be putting in the one time password section lol
 
I've still not received a beta key? I'm a Version 1 player, can't even find where to download the beta from! :D

I was invited to the Alpha but never bothered doing anything as i assumed it would be terrible just like the original FF14, from what people have said about ARR i actually want to play some! Any help?
 
Really enjoying it, the starting zones are nice, played around with a few characters over the weekend, liking the healer one, will definitely be buying this.

Only level 5, but from the killing monsters, the actions being a lot more fluent, and the character actions when moving are smooth.
 
I think I'm level 14 thauma whatever the offensive caster is called.
found it a bit boring after a while so I'm thinking of trying a ranger or something instead.

I tested the miner to about lvl 3, it's awesome how once you register a class at their guild you just swap weapon to switch class :D

I'm thinking of buying it until I get in the archeage beta or until that game gets released if I don't manage to get in its beta fairly early
