Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn

I've got my copy free due to owning 1.0. There's nothing I have to do is there? Not been following progress that much.

Not as far as I know, from what what I've heard us 1.0 owners get to play for free until some time in September (I *think* it was the 3rd, but I could be wrong).

Yeah, we didn't get early access though which I thought was a bit strange. I managed to get a code however to get in, I got my collectors items in the mail yesterday. :)

Well there were a lot of server problems at the release date which thankfully they appear to have overcome. They simply weren't expecting the amount of new subscriptions that they got it seems.

Anyway, as for the game itself I think it is fantastic! It looks great, plays great, nice and quick, I don't feel like I'm grinding my way through the levels (yet) and it is all fairly easy to get used to.

The story line so far is pretty enjoyable too :)

I'm struggling with the interface a bit - I've only played a few hours so far (12Pugilist, 9 Weaver), but the level of customisation is far beyond anything I expected!

No doubt I'll become more familiar with it all as time goes on - back in FFXI I used to use an aftermarket program for things like on-screen maps, timestamps and long macros, so it's pretty awesome that all of that is included by default.

Gilseller spam is ridiculous; I've got something like 10 names on my blist already, and have to add more every single time I enter town.

It's in maintenance at the moment, annoyingly - else I'd be sneaking in a few hours before work!

Does anyone know how to list items on the noticeboards ingame? I've got a few crafts upto about level 10-20 and my bags are full of lovely sellables. My main skill is THM at level 23. ps this game canes your cpu lol I'm getting max 60% usage out of each 780gtx and framerates of 25fps in towns that are filled with hundreds of players. 60fps at all other times though.

Anyone still playing this? Debating picking it up on ps3 for the ps4 upgrade in april! Mainly wondering how it runs on ps3 and is it worth starting now or do i just buy it and keep it sealed til ps4 upgrade?

Its only £10 in asda new

I still play it occasionally, trying to keep up with all the other new releases and juggling WoW at the same time. It runs well enough on the PS3 (and the controller works surprisingly well) so you might as well make a start on it on the PS3 then "upgrade" to the PS4 version when that's out.

I may do this as i would appreciate the upgrade more i bet! It will be my only current mmo as ive stopped playing wow and guildwars 2 though i wasnt a hardcore player of those say! Does it hold interest throughout?

I've been playing it on both PC and PS3 and the upgrade is definitely noticeable and appreciated :p still great fun on PS3 though! It was my only MMO since it launched but the lack of stuff to do at endgame was getting kinda boring and my IRL friends convinced me to start WoW again (which I did yesterday). I'd say there's enough to keep the interest going, plenty of different ways to level with some very challenging instances, and they just recently added a fair bit of content including PvP. Even if it doesn't hold your interest, it's only £10 and then at least you've got the game and know what it's like :p
