I'm looking for places to pre-order the collectors edition but can only find the digital download.

I'd prefer to get the physical version because my internet connection isn't the fastest and the beta download was about 9GB, took forever! Hah.

I was tempted to start up FFXI again but I haven't played in over 3 years and I wouldn't know where to start! Think I quit just before the level cap was raised.

I've been making my usual rounds on sites like Amazon, Zavvi, Shopto, etc. looking for the CE, and so far Zavvi's the only one I've found with the physical Collector's Edition. Since I already own a hard-copy of the game on PC I'm gonna go with the PS3 version this time.

I never made it very far in FFXI, but thought more people would be joining with the recent launch of Seekers of Adoulin and figured it'd be as good a time as any to jump back in!

It is a lovely looking CE hope we get a little more than stock photos soon, want to see that boxart (and contents of course) in all its glory. There'll no doubt be a trial of sorts before long, you never know, you might get along better with this MMO than others.

Already have the V1.0 collectors edition on PC, but I am serously tempted to get this for PS3.

Assume that's 10 euro per month for the 6 months ?

Beta phase 3 confirmed for 14th June. PS3 testing also begins in this phase.

Not a full NDA lift though according to the updated roadmap so will have to see what we can talk about.

Edit: Where is this 180 days for 10 Euros thingy? Seems a little odd given it's 10.99 euros per month.

Thanks for that had heard the third Beta phase was due for June, but not the exact date - will update the OP now.

Sweet I had the original collectors edition, and it appears you're upgraded on ARR.

Yeah, I'm never really bothered about collectors editions but that Coeurl mount looks sick! Might have up get the digital upgrade.

So what classes are people going for on release? Im Mainly a caster or a rogue dps style so may aim for a Pala / warrior style for a change. Also weirdly tempted by a bard.

I can't decide yet, need to wait and see what they all play like and how viable they are in end game. The good thing about FF MMO's is you can play all class/job on the same character.

I usually play a healer in MMO's but in XI I played Black Mage which was a ton of fun.

I only have one job at 50, WAR, and a few others around 20-30. I'll take MNK to 50 once ARR arrives, by the sounds of it they've changed the job a lot and it sounds really interesting.

I'll be starting a fresh character at launch too - it'll feel like a new game so I want a new character along with it

Currently have no server plans due to all my friends not budging from GW2/WoW, but I'd be interested in starting a guild open to all OcUKers on both platforms (and other people naturally). Is anyone leaning towards a server in particular at the moment? If other people are interested we could see which server suits everyone the best and start it there.

Well they haven't released any server names for new servers yet. Legacy servers will be have same names with a "legacy" suffix.

I presume it means that is the equivalent monthly fee if you purchase that much time in one block not that it is 180 days for a one off fee of £7.69 for example. Can't see it been cheaper for 180 days than it is for 30 days that would be absurd.

Legacy servers will retain there names in ARR and will be situated in the following locations:

Ridill Japan → Ridill Japan
Masamune Japan → Masamune Japan
Durandal Japan → Durandal Japan
Aegis Japan → Aegis Japan
Gungnir Japan → Gungnir Japan
Sargatanas Japan → Sargatanas North America/Europe
Balmung Japan → Balmung North America/Europe
Hyperion Japan → Hyperion North America/Europe
Excalibur Japan → Excalibur North America/Europe
Ragnarok Japan → Ragnarok North America/Europe

Ragnarok has been recommended for EU players by SE.

Note these are the Legacy servers where Verson 1.0 characters will reside. You can create new characters on these servers but you will be playing along side mostly maxed level players.

"New character" server names are not yet revealed now below.
