First gaming pc

The latest BIOS - F7 - Clicky

You only need the AB350G3.F7 file on the USB from the extracted file when using Q-Flash.

(REM: Format stick FAT 32 first)

You use a tool like Rufus to put a Windows install set on the USB stick from an ISO. Then add the motherboard drivers to a separate folder on the stick. When you install, I suggest you use a USB 2 port.

I thinks he's bought Windows via retail stick - ready to go.

hey @Plec hope you're good.

ive got a spare few hours later, so im gonna have a go at starting the build:confused:

If you have a bit of spare time, would you be able to tell me the next process please for flashing the mobo and anything else i need to know?

ive formatted the usb stick to fat32, the latest bios seems to be F8, not F7??

Thank you, wish me luck:(

Edit, F8 doesnt seem to work so ive downloaded F7 and is on the USB stick.

Hey @dmann - i'm about (working - but will keep am eye on my other screen)

The F8 got added yesterday - and if you're not having any luck (not downloading?) with it the F7 is fine.

How far have you got?

Nah it's not responding, I've downloaded F7 instead so will just go with that.

I've literally only done that as I remember you saying only to plug in 1 ram stick, the cpu, psu to mobo and monitor!? So bit confused on this bit.

I should be fine once that is done. So if you could tell me exactly what to use and what to do to flash the bios that'd be great.

Thanks @Plec

Is the motherboard in the case or outside?

Is the PSU attached?

You will need the keyboard attached to navigate the BIOS.

As this is your first build i think we'll get the motherboard in the Case to test - if you haven't done so already. Or if you're happy to we'll test outside of the case?

List everything you've got attached and done so far.

I like to add that if you don't have windows 10 it won't support usb 3.0 like windows 7 for example so yeah, you wouldn't be able to use your mouse and keyboard via usb if you install the os.

edit

It has to be windows 10 anyways for ryzen processor support.

he does

Right then, I'm back and focused now @Plec :)

Absolutely nothing done so far. Surrounded by everything ready to go.

I don't mind doing it out of the case if you describe exactly what is needed to be done please.

Is ok to do it with the mb on the box?

From my own experiance,

Your going to have to line-up the motherboard standoff screws so your going to have too match the screw places on the motherboard, so your going to have too screw in the standoff screws inside the case and then use the other screws to sandwich the motherboard on top of the standoff screws, screws that fit the standoff screws.

I'd install the processor with its processor cooler ram and graphics card first then screw in the motherboard.

This is the stand off screw on top of the standoff screw is where you screw in the motherboard the motherboard is between the stand off screw to be screwed upon the motherboard.

Yes - better a flat bit of cardboard so there's no danger that you knock it off. Especially when the GFX card is installed.

  • install one stick
  • CPU cooler
  • PSU
  • Keybaord
  • GFX card
  • DP/HDMI to monitor
  • We'll short pins to start.

let me know when you have all cables connected...

...shout if you get confused.

*Did you watch any YouTube tutorials?

ok im just gonna work through that list you just posted.

Ive been watching a lot of youtube videos, quite scary when its all in front of you though, haha.

will keep you updated:)

Just take your time - and make sure all cables are connected properly - no hurry.

Stick the one stick in DDR4_2 (we'll stick the second one in DDR4_1 once BIOS is flashed)

Press down memory until clips click into grooves - press evenly either side (bit more pressure on one side and then the other etc... until it slots in)
