First gaming pc

Just take your time - and make sure all cables are connected properly - no hurry.

Stick the one stick in DDR4_2 (we'll stick the second one in DDR4_1 once BIOS is flashed)

I hope he gets the stand off screws correct.

He will when we get to it :)

Your pic will help.

As it's his first build (and i can't see what he's doing) we're testing first boot outside of the case - as it rules out shorting issues if it fails to boot.

Ram installed

cpu and cooler installed and cooler plugged in to mb.

there were cables with the ram, do these need to go in now??

EDIT: thanks for picture daniel, think i know how they go now

Right i see, well i was thinking of him streaming with a webcam off of some website like twitch.tv or some other website like stickam but stickam is not around any more https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stickam .

No problem you have to sandwich the motherboard like that.

The stand off screws must be screwed into the screw holes matching your motherboard straight into the case and then put the motherboard on top of the screwed in standoff screws and then screw upon the motherboard.

Next thing will be the f-panel equivalent, this is where you connect your computer case to the motherboard, f panel is intel-motherboard standard which i know.

Install the PSU to the motherboard (unplugged).

Once all installed - install the GFX card and then attach PSU to GFX.

Jumping ahead - :)

Apart from that is will be plain sailing i mentioned that because i was stuck in the past didn't know what to do so yeah when i first built my pc back in 2009.

Yeah for the gpu you simply get the pci-e cable thingys they will be 6+2 socket hang on i will get a picture.

This >

goes into the graphics card from power supply.

ok,

ram installed

cpu, cooler in and cooler plugged to mb

psu connected to mb

gpu installed, pci e cable plugged into gpu, now where other end of that go on the psu??

yeah, so ive got the pcie e cable, plugged into the gpu, where does the other end of that cable go?

Ahh, well if the gpu only has 6 pin then you just leave that extra bit alone and the graphics card will function fine without it.

If the gpu has 8 pin then you stick the other bit in and it will function as well.

@lltfdaniel - i'm getting your alerts and stopping working to help dmann and it's you

:)

He's watched tutorials so we need to have a little faith in what he's doing - and wait for him to ask questions. Gets very confusing otherwise.

Two sets of questions can get us very muddled... :)
