:)

He's watched tutorials so we need to have a little faith in what he's doing - and wait for him to ask questions. Gets very confusing otherwise.

Two sets of questions can get us very muddled... :)

Very well :-).

ok, so that cable is only plugged into the gpu at the moment, does the other end go to the psu for power?
Yes if it's not connected to PSU (as it's modular)

We'll recap all connections before you fire up and that they're connected to PSU.

Great, so the only available connection points on the psu which are 8 pin are.... VGA1 and VGA2 (and cpu but its obviously not that)

which do i use?

PS thanks for being so patient

Look at the end of the cables - should fit in VGA1 (well any of them - should have 4) if you're talking about the 8 pin cable for the GFX power?

(not to be confused with the VGA image that was posted earlier)

Sorted, thats the one.

Right then, next step please:)

Connection recap:
  • 8 pin 12V (motherboard and PSU)
  • 24 pin (motherboard and PSU)
  • CPU fan in CPU_FAN header
  • GPU 8 pin (motherboard and PSU)
  • Kettle lead in back of PSU
  • DP/HDMI connected to monitor
  • Keyboard plugged in
Now get a medium sized screwdriver - clean the head.

Ah, good job youre on the ball. havent plugged in 8 pin 12v to motherboard. will that go in slot labelled ATX_12v on mb, and into another VGA slot on psu?

screwdriver cleaned and ready

  • Plug in monitor
  • once you're happy everything is connected in above post list - briefly bridge the gab between the PW+ and PW- pins with the screwdriver (page 16 of your manual) found on the F_Panel (Front panel header) (be careful to only touch these pins - quick touch)
  • should power up
  • watch temps
