First gaming pc

cpu temp 35
system 27
Perfect.

Switch off PSU at the back.

Stick the flash drive with BIOS into a free USB 3 port (check your manual)

Then briefly bridge the gab between the PW+ and PW- pins with the screwdriver again:
  • then press <end> at start of post to enter Q-Flash
  • let me know once in Q Flash environment

/still on phone - but other than that you have my full attention :)

Oh, and don't move, touch anything while its updating - you have a naked system in front of you basically having a brain transplant.

Not to scare you or anything... :D

dont youll give me a heart attack haha.

just updated:):):) and rebooted
Great - scary bit completed.

Turn off - and unplug.

Ground yourself.

Put the other memory stick in slot DDR4_1 (there should be a slot separating the memory now)

Then clarify if you've put the IO backplate in the case?

io shield in place, other ram installed.

shall i remove the usb stick now?

Yes remove USB.

Are you sure IO orientated the right way? Double check
  • disconnect PSU from motherboard
  • disconnect PSU from GFX
  • DON'T disconnect cables from PSU!
  • remove monitor cable from GFX card
  • Remove gfx card from motherboard - there's a release catch on the slot (it won't pull out unless you hold this back)
  • screw the risers into your case - making sure they marry up to the holes on your motherboard. Use a ruler if necessary
  • Once you're sure you have them aligned correctly hold the motherboard by the edges and the CPU cooler and guide it in - it can be tricky.
Normally i would put motherboard in with GFX still in place but risky for a first time builder - plus i need to be sure you can see you've aligned risers correctly.

all screwed in bar 1, there was no hole to put the riser....
Great - so you've only screwed in the risers you needed and no more.

Install the PSU - it would have come with screws for back of case.

You will need to remove PSU shroud from case - if you haven't done so already.

The cables will feed through from the back - into the motherbaord (think back to YouTube tutorials when they did cable management).

You will also need to fit the GFX card back in - remove rear case bracket/s from case to secure it to case. You'll see them as soon as you try to fix it.

Then as before:

  • 8 pin 12V (motherboard and PSU)
  • 24 pin (motherboard and PSU)
  • CPU fan in CPU_FAN header
  • GPU 8 pin (motherboard and PSU)
  • Kettle lead in back of PSU (not plugged in yet)
  • DP/HDMI cable connected to monitor and other end connected to graphics card ***NOT*** the motherboard output. Make doubly sure!
